You can even apply it directly to your cheeks. It has just the right consistency - not too runny, making it easy to apply. Based on a patented moisture-attracting ingredient, this hydrating base glides on smoothly and adheres lightly to the skin after absorption. As someone who once fell for the celebrity 'water glow' makeup trend, I expected a shimmery peach base with opal pearls like I used to use, but this is different. Pink-based products can sometimes make skin look ashy, but Jung Saem Mool's Glow Base gives a healthy ivory glow that suits both cool and warm skin tones. Although it's called a Glow Base, it's more of a hydrated radiance rather than sparkly pearls. It doesn't make your face look oily or shiny, but rather acts like a reflector, bouncing light off the contours of your face when it hits.
ConsPerfect for the mask-wearing era, it feels hydrating when applied and finishes with a powdery feel, but those with dry skin in winter should ensure a solid skincare routine underneath. While the moisture level felt just right upon application, after about 4 hours I noticed some dryness around my eyes and nasolabial folds. This may vary depending on your skin type.
TipRather than feeling like pearls settling into pores, it's more of a smoothing primer that evens out skin texture. It's great as a hydrating base before full makeup for those who prefer a full face. Personally, I've been favoring a foundation-free look lately due to mask-related blemishes, so I love that I can achieve a one-step finish with just this product. I highly recommend this as a winter base for those who want a subtle brightening effect that makes it look like you naturally have great skin.
