Moisturizing with a natural application! It creates a beautiful skin appearance. The staying power is terrible... It seems to shine only in the morning. I had Botox at lunchtime, so my forehead was wiped with an alcohol swab. Then I forgot to touch up my makeup, but no one noticed, haha! My whole face turned dark, not just the forehead as it should have. It's perfect for a quick no-makeup look when your boyfriend shows up at your doorstep unexpectedly! - gi******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 25, 2019
Brightening Effect: It definitely makes your skin look more radiant. I often apply it when meeting friends near my home, and those who know my skin isn't usually this bright keep asking what I've put on (feeling proud). Lightweight: My base makeup routine goes foundation → sunscreen → color corrector → cushion → concealer → powder. While it's fine in winter, it's too much effort in summer. I love that this product combines sunscreen and color corrector, saving me a step. It cuts down on time and makes me feel good. Matte Finish: Though it's not particularly oil-rich, I have oily skin naturally. I honestly didn't expect much, thinking 'Well, if my face gets shiny, no big deal.' But when I first applied it... wow, it was heavenly! Those with dry skin might find it a bit drying, but for oily skin types... you must buy this! Texture: It's extremely runny. When applying with fingers, it keeps getting under my nails. My nails are already quite long, so... Apart from getting under the nails due to its thin consistency, there's not much else to say. Don't apply with your fingers... the texture makes it inconvenient. Also, it doesn't adhere to the skin as well. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 14, 2019
It absorbs well and gives a radiant look, which I love! It's not too runny, so you can spread it out little by little. I think I'll repurchase it! I'm not sure about its staying power, but then again, it's a base product, so... It's super hydrating, which means it can transfer a bit. - tj******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 22, 2019
The correcting effect is great and it applies smoothly! The brightening moisturizer evens skin tone naturally, so on lazy days I can just apply this and foundation without worrying about my makeup breaking down. It has excellent staying power! It dries to a powdery finish. Not recommended for those with dry skin. Also, if you apply too much, it tends to settle into the creases around the nose. After applying a suitable amount to your skin, gently pat it in with your fingers for a natural complexion enhancement. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedMar 11, 2019
I've already used it all up... It's truly amazing!!! When applied, your complexion instantly becomes clear and radiant!! I've tried Etude's lavender primer too, but this one definitely gives a clearer skin appearance!!! No matter how much you layer it on... it's so hydrating that it absorbs well. When applied before foundation, it feels like you're putting foundation on naturally fair skin, so you can pretend to have a lighter complexion. It actually changes your skin tone!!!!! With foundation on top, you'll look fair all day long. When used with foundation, the staying power is great too!! The reason I can't use it alone is because as time passes, oil rises to the surface, making it patchy and clumpy, leaving the skin feeling uncomfortable.... After a few mishaps, I absolutely never use it alone. I only use it as a base step. I've heard a lot of good reviews about the Laneige Skin Veil Cushion as a base, so I might try that cushion next. Also, since the price is a bit steep, if you can get samples, I highly recommend trying them first... - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedNov 11, 2018
Personally, I found the rich texture quite nice when applying it. I don't usually have super sensitive skin, but after using this product, I developed some blemishes. That's actually why I downloaded Hwahae to investigate... - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinNov 26, 2017
I bought this because I like how it doesn't turn excessively white like some drugstore bases, and it's nicely moisturizing. Sometimes it can feel a bit powdery when it sets. If I can't find another base to replace it, I plan to repurchase in a different shade. You need to apply it very thinly, otherwise there's a bit of pilling. It's better to pat it in with your hands or a silicone applicator rather than using a puff. - go********Dry SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityOct 11, 2017
I had high hopes for the Water Glow Corrector Base - a hydrating and clear tone correction (I have a light yellow undertone) with a touch of radiance. I prefer using it alone without foundation, so I was looking for something moisturizing that wouldn't darken my skin and would adhere beautifully. I'd rather have a slightly oily finish than a white cast, and I find titanium-based brightening moisturizers too hazy and short-lasting (under 4 hours). For tone correction, I wanted something with some pigment for better longevity, which is why I chose this product. Well, it's not bad, but I'm not seeing the dazzling effects advertised. In my experience, it's similar to The Saem's Makeup Eco Soul Base I used before. I was captivated by the 'Blue Beam' technology that supposedly reflects blue light to make skin look more transparent and youthful... but I'm not sure about this futuristic tech. Honestly, I could have just stuck with the Eco Soul. I thought it had shimmer, but there's none. Using it alone without foundation, there's slight darkening after 4 hours and a bit of oiliness. It gives a slight sheen without actual shimmer, which can emphasize texture a bit. This might be fine if covered with a thick foundation, but if you're planning to use this alone... by evening, it tends to highlight any sebum production around pores. Smooth skin until evening is probably a stretch. --- Updated on the 26th --- Applying this directly to dry, bare skin makes it no different from other regular makeup bases, and it might even emphasize oiliness. To use this well, your skin needs to be in good condition to start with. It took me a while to understand the true nature of the Laneige Water Drop Base Corrector. This product isn't saying, 'I'll definitely correct your tone, sis!' My mistake was expecting a dramatic yellow-to-purple transformation. Slapping this on dry skin will only highlight pores and sebum. First, exfoliate, hydrate with essence or a sheet mask to plump up shrunken pores. Add a drop of face oil for moisture, use a primer on any remaining texture, then apply this Water Drop Base Corrector. Otherwise, you won't get that subtle glow, or it'll look off. It'll highlight pores instead of giving your face a glow. That's a disaster! (It's different from an oil's glow. Oil adds volume, but this gives a peculiar silvery sheen without actual shimmer particles. It's fascinating... there are no visible particles, yet it glows. And it doesn't glow much on dry or problematic skin. It's like it reacts with the skin's oil-water balance... I'm not sure about the science, so I'll leave that alone.) It's like the natural glow you see on the forehead of someone with great skin after a facial - not a gold highlighter, but that reflective, slightly silvery sheen. It's incredible - no shimmer particles, yet it gives an angelic silver glow that changes with the light angle. It looks sophisticated when it only reflects at certain angles, not constantly shimmering which can look cheap and artificial. On taut, lifted, smooth skin, this glow is beautifully radiant, natural, and high-end, as if saying, 'My skin's been this good since birth, see? Even without makeup.' To be frank, if your skin isn't naturally firm and smooth, you might want to skip this. It could end up just emphasizing pores and texture. It enhances the beauty of already beautiful skin, but it can also highlight flaws. This long review is for those confident in their skin - at least above average. Even under scrutiny, there's zero trace of makeup. No shimmer, no visible pigment, yet it brightens and glows. That's the real deal. What's a goddess glow? It's that moist, transparent radiance we can have on our faces too. Just the reality of that is mind-blowing. Agreed. - Hwahae UserOily SkinJul 11, 2017
I bought this without much expectation due to lack of reviews (online purchase). Initially, I was disappointed when I first used it. The texture is watery, feeling moisturizing only during application, but it quickly dries (for reference, I have dry skin). I thought, 'Oh well, it's a fail' and left it on my vanity. When I tried it again, I found it great for a natural look. It brightens and illuminates your complexion as if you naturally have good skin. Although it does dry quickly, it doesn't settle into fine lines, so I'm using it for a bare-faced look. Note that it doesn't have primer functionality. Don't assume it'll be hydrating just by looking at the texture! While the formula seems moisturizing, it dries quickly upon application. As it's a base product, it naturally doesn't offer coverage. It's useful for light makeup or a no-makeup makeup look. Purchase this thinking of it as just for evening out your skin tone. Like concealers, some apply thickly and some thinly - this one applies very thinly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 2, 2017
At first, it feels super white when applied, but it doesn't float on the skin after a moment. When I apply cushion foundation over it, the longevity and adherence seem much better. Also, I have sensitive skin, but there's no sign of blemishes or itching at all. Maybe it's because my application technique is lacking, but if I apply it incorrectly, it can make my face look patchy in some areas. Try spreading a small amount with your hands, apply your base, wait a bit, then apply cushion or BB cream. This seems to improve the adherence even more.
