This sunscreen feels gentle on my skin.
ConsThe amount is less than expected, and you need to cleanse thoroughly. If you only use foam cleanser, it leaves residue. Also, it tends to be a bit drying.
TipIt's a great brightening moisturizer for summer use.

Whenever I try other sunscreens out of curiosity, my skin reacts badly, so I always come back to Dr. G's sunscreen. With my combination dehydrated skin, applying it to my T-zone seems to regulate oil production, keeping me feeling fresh all day. It has a slight white cast, but rather than floating on top, it gives a nice brightening effect that evens skin tone.
ConsIt's a bit difficult to remove. Even after the first cleanse, there are still traces left around the nose and under the eyes, so you need to be thorough with cleansing.

ConsI was a bit disappointed that some residue remained even after washing my face!

As someone with dry skin, I used to opt for sunscreens with more oil content. However, I noticed that even slight changes in my skin condition would disrupt my oil-moisture balance, leading to blemishes. While searching for a mineral sunscreen instead of a chemical one, I stumbled upon this product by chance. It suited me so well that I've been using it year-round ever since. First off, as other reviews mention, it's not particularly hydrating. While it doesn't cause flaking, it does feel quite matte, especially for dry skin. It also leaves a bit of a white cast, which might be polarizing. However, since I try to minimize base and color makeup for my daily office look to prioritize skin health, I actually appreciate the subtle white cast. As someone with dry skin, I always focus on maintaining hydration in my skincare routine, not just for night care but for daily use too. Except for summer (and even then, if I'm indoors a lot...), I use very hydrating foundations after sunscreen. If I were to use an oily sunscreen on top of that, I'd end up with excess oil and tiny bumps in my T-zone. This product helps maintain a good balance - its dryness is actually a plus point for me. Of course, I wouldn't recommend it to those who prefer both matte skincare and base makeup. During summer when I'm outdoors a lot, instead of using foundation, I layer this mineral sunscreen with a chemical one on top. It works great - no dryness at all! To reiterate, this isn't a texture that dry-skinned folks can use alone without foundation... but it's perfect for my routine.
ConsI'm not sure if it's because of its matte finish, but you need to be thorough with cleansing. If you don't properly dissolve it during the first cleansing step with a cleansing balm or oil, you might still feel some residue even after using a foam cleanser for the second step.

ConsDifficult to remove. If not thoroughly cleansed, it definitely leaves residue on the skin.

I've used it consistently and haven't experienced any blemishes or redness.
Cons1. Oiliness: It's very rich and leaves the skin excessively shiny. 2. Dryness: Initially it's fine, but within an hour my skin feels extremely dry - like it's completely parched. It's unusable in winter. Those with dry skin should avoid this product. 3. Difficult to remove: It's incredibly hard to wash off. Even double cleansing doesn't remove it completely, and it leaves a suffocating film-like feeling on the skin. Constantly double cleansing to remove this sunscreen damaged my skin barrier. However, if you don't cleanse thoroughly, it clogs pores and causes whiteheads. Please avoid this if you have thin, weak, or super sensitive skin.

Other sunscreens often sting or cause severe irritation, making them difficult to use, but this one's gentleness is a huge plus. There's a white cast when you first apply it, but it disappears quickly after a few minutes.
ConsThe issue is that it doesn't seem to wash off easily. With a regular foam cleanser, it feels like something's left behind, and the residue pills up like dead skin. I use this because I have super sensitive skin, but ironically, the process of removing it causes irritation. It's a bit of a catch-22.
TipMake sure to apply plenty of hydration before using this!

It helps control shine, which means less darkening of the skin throughout the day. It also has a slight white cast that provides a brightening effect, evening out the complexion.
ConsIf used for too long, it may cause some minor blemishes to appear. When removing, make sure to use a proper cleansing product. A simple face wash doesn't seem to be enough to completely remove it.

It doesn't sting my eyes or cause any blemishes. What I really love is that normally when I go out, my forehead and nose get oily, but after applying this, my skin becomes matte and controls the excess oil. As someone with oily skin, I find this product really works well for me.
ConsEverything else is good, but it's not easy to remove. You need to use a cleansing oil to feel like it's thoroughly cleaned off. If I only use a cleansing foam, it feels like there's still some product left on my skin.

ConsPersonally, I found the white cast a bit disappointing, and occasionally I could still feel some residue even after cleansing, which was a letdown.
TipStudents looking for a sunscreen with a white cast, I highly recommend this one! The white cast lasts quite long, giving a natural brightening effect to your complexion!
