My skin is extremely sensitive and dehydrated. Around April-May 2019, my skin suddenly became a mess, so I changed all my products in October after searching and searching. My skin gets turned upside down every season change, and after a trip to the US, my moisture and oil balance was completely disrupted, leaving me with dehydration, clogged pores, and adult acne. Since it seems like replenishing moisture would stop this vicious cycle, I switched my entire routine to the Laneige Cica Aqua line. 🦋Texture It has a watery, slightly viscous texture! When squeezed onto the cheeks, it flows all the way down to the chin. Being so water-like, it spreads and absorbs smoothly and lightly. 🦋Absorption & Hydration I apply the Laneige Cica Aqua Toner 3 times with my hands, without cotton pads, then follow with the serum. It absorbs like a toner, without any sticky residue. Before getting the Cica Aqua Toner, I would use the Cosrx Low pH Hydrating Toner, wiping it on with cotton pads, then layer 3 thin layers of serum. That would feel hydrating, but I'd have to keep adding more and more. Layering the serum a few times means I can skip the moisturizer and still not feel dry. (But I still use a moisturizer to seal in the hydration!) 🦋I bought the 100ml size, so it lasts a long time and doesn't run out quickly. (I haven't even opened the 100ml freebie yet...) 🦋Breakouts Using the entire Cica Aqua line, I no longer get any breakouts!!! I'm so relieved - the big cystic acne I used to get has completely calmed down. I think it's because my internal moisture levels are now balanced. There are no highly risky ingredients, and I'm using it very safely! 💙

🤢When applied in large amounts, it does leave a slightly sticky finish. Since my skin is extremely dehydrated, I try to layer on lots of the water-based products, but too many layers can lead to a tacky final result. 🤢The fact that I bought the 100ml size probably contributes to this, and the glass bottle makes it unnecessarily heavy, though the packaging is quite pretty. 🤢When I apply too much on my face, it just immediately starts dripping down... So I have to work quickly to spread it evenly.

If you go to the Laneige website, you can try out the Cica Aqua line as samples by just paying for shipping! I think they gave a week's worth of samples, and even when my skin was in an acne-ridden, uneven mess, the samples helped improve my skin texture... 💙 So I ended up purchasing the full-size products! Elegant matte packaging with a luxurious feel! Doesn't cause any trouble!! Slight whitening effect, Low-irritation product.

This is a review after winning the Hwahae Trial Reviewer contest. Texture: It's a watery type. So you need to pat it gently on the upper part and spread it quickly. Otherwise, it keeps running down. Effects: Hmm... I think the whitening effect was good! I used it for about 2 weeks, and people said I looked like I was wearing a tone-up cream even when I went out with bare skin! This product is a serum in the basic skincare line, and the main ingredient is 4% Aquatide, which is said to have a higher concentration than many recently launched high-performance cosmetic products.
