I'm writing this in hopes it won't be discontinued! *Color (Darkening) My complexion is on the fair side, so I use shade 13 for foundations and cushions. I've tried many highly-rated brightening moisturizers, but they were often too dark for me, resulting in wasted money and giving them away. However, this sunscreen matches my skin tone perfectly, or is just slightly darker. It's the best match I've found so far with no darkening! *Application Given its matte formula, it can feel a bit thick when applying. But since I use rich, nourishing skincare underneath matte sunscreens or foundations, I didn't find it uncomfortable. Just note that if you use lightweight skincare, you might find it a bit dry or stiff. Make sure to use rich, hydrating skincare underneath! *Longevity I don't like layering multiple base products and don't have much time for makeup, so I usually use sunscreens with brightening effects daily (I've tried all the famous ones like Dar*, He*, etc.). Most of them would darken by afternoon, likely due to my skin tone not matching well. This Plant Base sunscreen, however, works perfectly on my skin, which usually doesn't play well with base products! I can apply it before work, and even after 12+ hours without touch-ups, there's no darkening and it maintains great staying power! *Ingredients The main reason I chose this sunscreen at Olive Young was for its ingredients! It's free from harmful substances and doesn't contain stearic acid, which doesn't agree with my skin. My skin is super sensitive, and for over a decade, I couldn't find a base product (sunscreen, brightening moisturizer, cushion, foundation) that I truly loved or that worked for me. Even products with good ingredients and positive reviews on Hwahae would cause issues for my sensitive skin (especially sunscreens). But with this sunscreen, while it feels a bit dry after application, I didn't experience any negative reactions! This fact alone makes me want to use it forever. I'm so happy to have finally found a sunscreen that works for me without causing blemishes!
Cons*Dryness This product is very matte, so you really need to apply rich, nourishing skincare underneath! *Breakdown Related to the dryness issue, because it's so matte, even for someone like me who can go 12+ hours without touch-ups, it can break down around the mouth area (where there's a lot of movement) after about 6 hours. However, you can easily fix this by gently wiping with a tissue, and it goes back to looking like your natural skin!
TipAs mentioned in the cons, make sure to use rich skincare underneath! If it breaks down, just lightly wipe with a tissue and you can continue using it without needing to touch up!

I previously tried the Dewytree tone-up sunscreen, but the color didn't match my skin, so I stopped using it. I heard that the Plant Nation product had a lighter shade, so I gave it a try. The color is indeed brighter compared to other products, which is why I started using it! ▪️Application experience It applies smoothly with a slightly rich texture. After application, you can feel a bit of hydration. It becomes matte as time passes. What I liked while using it is that it doesn't pill when reapplying. With sunscreens, it's often inconvenient to reapply frequently, and layering can sometimes emphasize dead skin cells or cause pilling, but that's not the case with this one. While it doesn't have the coverage of a foundation, it's great as a sunscreen alternative and for natural brightening. I'm using it as my foundation-free option. ▪️Additional notes Other tone-up sunscreens were too dark for me and too moisturizing for my skin type, but this one has a radiant color. I reapply 2-3 times a day with intervals, and when reapplying, it goes on matte, which I really like.
Cons▪️For those who prefer a powdery, matte texture, this formula might feel too moisturizing. While I'm using it well due to its many advantages, there is some shine, so I hesitate to recommend it outright for oily skin types. If you have oily skin, I suggest testing it before committing.
Tip▪️Since it's brighter than other tone-up sunscreens, it would be good to test it out before using.

It's so good you can go foundation-free even when you take off your mask. Plus, its great ingredients mean fewer blemishes compared to other sunscreens. I love how its peachy tint naturally covers redness, unlike other tinted sunscreens.
ConsI always apply it over a solid skincare base, so I didn't experience any pilling. However, if you keep reapplying, it might feel matte in cold weather. But that's just personal preference - you could always add more hydration if needed.

I really like that.
ConsWhen I apply it, there's a slight tingling sensation... I have combination dehydrated skin, so the matte formula seems to irritate my skin.
