Pros
This product is the first one I apply before my base makeup. It finishes without being sticky, making my makeup application feel light and good. It is moisturizing, absorbs well, and is suitable for my combination skin type! Although I haven't used it for a long time, I'm still using it continuously. There is no irritation, and even though my skin is sensitive and tends to get red and sting easily, I didn't experience any of that. Pros
I have a sensitive, combination skin with an oily T-zone that gets easily irritated if I use the wrong products. I was selected as a Hwahae Trial Reviewer to review the Vital Essence. The key things I focused on were: ①whether it's gentle on the skin, ②how well it applies, and ③whether it leaves the skin feeling dry or oily. First of all, the texture is somewhere between a toner and an essence! I wish the application was a bit more adjustable like an essence, but it spreads very lightly on the skin. And it's really... very gentle. I tend to over-cleanse, so I usually feel a slight stinging after applying creams, but surprisingly, there was absolutely no irritation at all. There's no cooling sensation, but I felt it was incredibly gentle.
Cons
The only downside is that I felt it was quite drying after just one application. Even though I'm on the oily side, I'm not sure - I had to apply it at least three times and pat it in before I felt any real moisture.
Tip
I decided to just continue using my regular toner as my base, and use the Vital Essence right before bed, followed by a face mask. As I mentioned, it can be applied comfortably even after thorough cleansing, so using the essence, then a soothing face mask seems like a great routine.
