I typically use a layered approach of water-based ampoule essences followed by a cream moisturizer, and in the mornings I just use an essence.
1. Using this in the morning would leave an unnecessary oily residue in the current weather.
2. Using it at night feels awkward, as I would need additional hydration before applying this, but putting a rich cream on top would be too much.

So for now, I've set it aside... I think I'll take it out again during the transitional seasons when it might be more suitable.

It's not quite a serum, as it's opaque and viscous, but it's also not quite a lotion, as it flows smoothly... It's an ambiguous texture that's tricky to place in a skincare routine.
However, when you apply it, the texture responds to body temperature and becomes less viscous, absorbing smoothly into the skin. It manages to address some dryness while providing a subtle oily finish, rather than leaving the skin feeling heavily moisturized. If your skin is well-balanced in terms of moisture and oil, this could work well as a standalone product.

I'm not sure about the brightening effects, and I think using vitamin C would be more effective.

Although it has more of a lotion-like texture than a serum, it was great - no stickiness, refreshing and moisturizing.
It absorbs quickly, so it's fine to use even in the summer.
It's gentle and non-irritating, and I felt like my skin became plump and bouncy as soon as I applied it.
The subtle ginseng scent is not overbearing.
It also seems to balance the oil and moisture levels well.
There's not as much oil as I expected, which I liked.
If you're looking for a hydrating, brightening anti-aging serum, this is worth trying.

I purchased this thinking it would be a typical essence formula, but the texture was different from what I had expected. If you're looking for a watery serum, I would recommend the Jaum Saeng Ampoule instead.

The essence formula was moisturizing enough that it could be used like a lotion after applying the basic skincare steps. The lightweight, non-sticky texture was suitable even for oily skin types.
