Compared to typical foam cleansers, the North Sca Nine Cleansing Gel has a gel texture that makes it easier to lather. Personally, I didn't find it particularly irritating, and I was satisfied with how moisturizing it felt after rinsing.
ConsIt doesn't seem to provide a deep cleansing effect. Those with oily skin or those expecting dead skin cell or sebum removal might find it challenging to achieve those results.

Please keep this in mind. I used this product consistently more than twice a day, and it didn't cause any blemishes. It seems really gentle and non-irritating. The finish feels slippery and moisturizing. Some people might not like this, but I've heard that a slippery finish is better for the skin than a squeaky clean one, so I was fine with it. I liked that it comes in a pump bottle. My skin is so sensitive that I'm always concerned about hygiene. With regular squeeze-tube cleansing foams, I often find water pooling in the cap. This product's pump design prevented that, so I could use it hygienically! It also seems to have some soothing effects. After extracting, if I cleansed with this product and went to sleep, I felt like the extracted areas calmed down faster than usual the next morning.
ConsThe scent is a bit like dish soap. It didn't bother me, but some people might dislike it. After use, the finish is definitely moisturizing, but once that moisture dries, my skin feels much drier than after using other products. Of course, the season might play a role, but I noticed more dead skin cells than before using this product. Make sure to apply your skincare immediately after cleansing with this, before the moisture evaporates!
TipAs I mentioned above, please make sure to apply your skincare right away! The dryness isn't like what you'd experience with other products... it's desert-like dryness.

Those with a weak skin barrier or dry skin probably shouldn't use it daily. As I used it, I found it too strong for me. Even with diligent moisturizing, my skin became damaged as soon as it dried out. Loves: - Lathers well. No need to worry about residue, as it turns white even when rubbed without water. Similar to Max Cleansing Oil-to-Foam in that you don't need a separate foam cleanser, but this one lathers better and feels more thorough. It's the most thorough cleanser I've used, giving a complete clean feeling. - Surprisingly effective at removing tints. Currently testing it on sunscreen, and so far no blemishes, so it seems to be removing it well. - Convenient compared to separate oil and foam cleansers, which require double cleansing and cost more for two products. - One pump is enough to cleanse face, neck, and back of hands, which is satisfying. - The packaging design doesn't take up much space in the bathroom. The slightly elongated shape is good for space efficiency.
ConsDislikes: - The scent is a bit off-putting. It's a chemical smell, like something you'd encounter in a pharmacy - not sure if it's good or bad for you. For me, fragrance is just an additive, so if it doesn't smell nice, I actually prefer when unnecessary ingredients aren't included. - Lacks specific functions, so those concerned with dead skin cells or sebum might need to use additional products like ampoules. (Despite strong cleansing, I didn't feel like it was particularly effective at removing sebum). I have combination-dry skin with no major skin concerns except texture, so I manage sebum with occasional gentle oil massage in summer, and use AHA, BHA, retinol, etc. in my skincare routine for exfoliation. I prefer gentle, clean cleansers. - Can't say it's moisturizing. I feel a bit of tightness in my cheeks when I wake up. It doesn't feel like it's stripping moisture during cleansing, so maybe with the right skincare routine, the hydration could be replenished.
TipAdditional thoughts: - Might be more suitable for oily skin types. - This is my first time trying a cleansing gel. If you want hydration, I'd recommend trying a cleansing balm (I tried a friend's from another brand, and it felt dewy and moisturizing. I didn't buy it because I wasn't confident about using it cleanly since it comes in a cream jar). - The pump feels sturdy, and it has a basic, reliable feel. - If you're looking for a strong, basic cleanser, you probably won't regret buying this for around $15 including shipping. - If you pay about $20, you might feel like it's usable but not quite as amazing as the sponsored reviews suggest - they weren't exactly wrong, but you might feel slightly misled.
