The applicator tip is perfect for direct scalp use, and it has a closable cap to prevent waste when not in use.
ConsWhile it's an essence type that doesn't drip, using too much can wet your hair, which might be uncomfortable. It's also hard to tell how much product is left in the bottle.
TipFor best results, gently press the applicator against your scalp while using. If you find it hard to control the pressure, try squeezing some onto your palm and applying with your fingertips instead.

I bought this serum because my scalp was dry. I was originally planning to get Eucerin, but international shipping was a hassle.. I trusted Andalou's reputation for their shampoos and decided to give this a try. Non-sticky, No clumping I was worried it might be sticky being a scalp serum, but not at all. I apply it all over after drying my hair 70%, and again on the hairline in the morning. There's no clumping or stickiness. Surprisingly, it doesn't clump even when applied to slightly oily hair, unlike hair tonics. It feels like a very thin aloe gel. Absorbs freshly without clumping, regardless of hair condition. Reduced flakes Seems like the flakes have decreased a bit. Usually, I don't notice them much as they're small, but sometimes I'd suddenly see some when humidity drops or when looking in the mirror. It's hard to compare precisely as I don't scrutinize my scalp often, but the flakes along the hairline seem to have reduced. Reduced oiliness, Decreased scalp odor The most amazing thing is that using this scalp serum actually reduced oiliness and, more importantly, eliminated scalp odor! Even though I wash my hair in the evening for scalp health, by the next afternoon my scalp would get oily (not extremely, but noticeable) and start to smell... I've tried both dry and oily scalp shampoos, nothing helped. I even went to a scalp clinic where they said the smell was from years-old sebum and needed professional treatment. But with this scalp serum, the oiliness is controlled and the smell just disappears! Even when I rub my scalp, there's no smell at all.. My scalp feels much fresher. This is its biggest advantage. It seems like the oil-moisture balance has improved and oiliness has decreased. Since my scalp condition changes daily depending on weather and my overall condition, it's hard to say definitively if itching or flakes have improved or if blemishes have disappeared. I'll update after using the whole bottle if the effects become more apparent.
ConsPrice, price, price It's really expensive.. I don't think one bottle will last very long (probably less than a month), so the high price makes me hesitant to repurchase... The cost is quite burdensome for daily use. **In reality, if you apply it to your entire scalp daily, it won't even last a month.. I'm just using aloe on the back of my head now. No immediate effect on hair texture I thought my hair texture would instantly improve once the scalp dryness was addressed, but there's no noticeable change. I'll update if it improves with long-term use. Absorption It doesn't absorb as quickly as hair tonic. It stays on a bit longer before being absorbed. However, once absorbed, there's no stickiness at all.. Inconvenience It's inconvenient to apply due to the hair. It's hard to tell if I've applied it thoroughly... At first, I carefully applied it section by section, but it ran out too quickly, so now I'm just massaging it in roughly with my fingertips. No effect on seborrheic dermatitis I have some scalp inflammation around my hairline, so I pay extra attention when applying there, but it doesn't seem to go away. It doesn't get worse or sting, but I can't say it's effective for seborrheic scalp conditions. I wonder how to get rid of this..
TipIf you have a dry scalp, make sure to use a scalp essence or serum instead of hair tonic... Hair tonic only provides a cooling sensation, but even after years of use, it had absolutely no moisturizing effect. I highly recommend this to those with imbalanced oil-moisture levels like me.
