Pros1. Texture
Applies with a smooth, oily glide. Silky and thin.
2. Application ⭐️⭐️(2/5)
- Doesn't emphasize dead skin cells or wrinkles
- ⚠️However, layers don't adhere well and sit on top of each other
- ⚠️Puff marks remain, requiring multiple pats
- Precise application necessary
3. Adherence ⭐️⭐️(2/5)
- Some sliding/transfer/imprinting
- Only the thinnest base layer weakly adheres to skin, additional layers float on top
- Feels incredibly lightweight and comfortable, as if wearing no makeup
- Decent longevity despite low adherence
4. Coverage ⭐⭐⭐(3/5)
- Light coverage, but not non-existent
- Excellent redness coverage
(Superb at evening skin tone, making skin appear clearer)
- Decent texture coverage
- Decent blackhead coverage
- Moderate pore coverage
- Poor coverage of dark acne scars
5. Finish ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(5/5)
- Finishes like a layer of high-quality, hydrating powder
- No sticky residue when touched
- Skin feels very comfortable with no tightness (for me)
- Those with very dry skin might find it lacking in hydration... not an overly dewy cushion
6. Skin Appearance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(5/5)
- Similar to the cushion's white case (seems intentional)
- Soft, luxurious, and gentle glow
- Natural radiance of naturally good skin, not an artificial shine
- Thin and natural-looking, like my own skin
- Clean and polished look
- Worth every penny for the skin finish
- If you prefer dramatic glass skin, coating glow, spa glow, or dewy looks, you might be disappointed...
7. Longevity ⭐️⭐️⭐️(3.5~4/5)
- Seems to contain light oils in the formula
- Initially feels light and smooth, but oil emerges over time
- Despite disliking oiliness, this is forgivable as it's not heavy or sticky. Looks like well-cared-for skin. Thin texture keeps it lightweight
- Oil blotting necessary!! Gets messy otherwise
- Difficult to use in hot weather
- Generally maintains a smooth appearance without emphasizing texture
- ⚠️However, powder particles clump in oily areas like pores and sides of nose. Pores visible around philtrum..?
- ⚠️No darkening, but as the formula dries, a slight white cast appears due to fine powdery finish + white pigments. Initially clear and bright, but can look cakey over time
8. Color (based on N01)
- Recommend N01 for those who typically use 21 warm tone
- More white-based ivory compared to other products
- Initially brightens skin tone clearly
- Slight white cast develops over time
- Can look cakey if applied too heavily
Cons1. Whitish Color
While N01 is a beautiful shade for those who use 21, it has a strong white base.
No darkening, but face can look slightly pale.
2. Low Adherence
Not an easy cushion to use. Need to apply carefully in small amounts.
Thin texture and oiliness make it very dependent on skincare. Light and fresh skincare seems best for longevity.
3. Clumping Issue
Oily skin types might be bothered by product clumping around pores!
4. Blemishes
I've tried Oera Glow Cushion, Sun Cushion, and Calibrator, but none suit me. This severe reaction is a first and shocking. I develop dermatitis. Those with sensitive skin should absolutely patch test first.
Despite these drawbacks...
The skin finish and lightweight feel... It's still to my liking...
If not for the blemishes, I'd want to use it in fall and winter. What a shame.
Love the thin texture + natural look + soft glow
TipMy Preferences:
Preferred Skin Finish: Low coverage, thin texture, subtle glow, refined and clean-looking complexion
Preferred Cushion Style: Dior Dreamskin, Chantecaille
Dior Forever Glow Cushion, Armani To Go Cushion: Dislike the forced coating glow, good adherence but dry with emphasized dead skin cells, so I don't reach for them
Chanel Les Beiges, La Mer Cushion: Initially pretty glow, but over time oil emerges excessively and the glow becomes overwhelming, so I don't reach for them
