The subtle pearl effect gives a beautiful sparkle. I was worried it might be too much on the back of my hand, but it's just perfect on the lips! As a plumper, there's a slight warming sensation, but it doesn't cause any irritation or tingling on the face or lips. The plumping effect isn't immediate, but after a short while, it gives that gorgeous 'just had lip fillers' look. There's no noticeable color, so I layered it over my usual lip products. I actually prefer it this way - if it had color, I probably wouldn't use it as much! As with most glass-shine products, it doesn't last very long. This product couldn't escape that drawback. It's also stickier than expected - if you touch up your lips with your fingers, they'll end up quite tacky. The plumping effect doesn't last very long either, which is a bit of a critical flaw... But it looks so pretty when applied, so I can forgive it! I noticed that applying it over lip products slightly dulls the color. So, I found a technique: apply your lip product, then layer this on top, and finally touch up the inner lips with your original lip product. This way, you get beautiful color payoff along with the subtle sparkle and plumping effect! Surprisingly, it's so moisturizing that you might not even need lip balm. The pearl effect doesn't intensify with more product, so frequent light applications work well. It's perfect for adding a bit of extra oomph to your makeup or complementing a more glamorous look!
