Usage: 2 bottles Repurchase intention: Undecided I first encountered Swanicoco as a natural cosmetics brand when I was in high school, and over the years I've noticed the brand becoming more premium (and pricier). These days, there are many affordable cosmetics without harmful ingredients, so it's been a while since I used Swanicoco for my entire skincare routine. However, I found that their functional products still work well for me. Unfortunately, a previous product I liked was discontinued, but those good memories led me to try another one. The products I'm currently using are ampoules with EGF+FGF ingredients! These might be unfamiliar, but simply put, they're epidermal growth factors (regenerative factors). Fun fact: the scientist who discovered these components won a Nobel Prize. There's some controversy around EGF and FGF in cosmetics, with some products containing only trace amounts (1ppm). However, you can find pure ampoules, and the maximum allowed by the FDA is 10ppm, which is what I'm using. EGF works on the epidermis, while FGF acts on fibroblasts (slightly deeper). The texture is like water - colorless and odorless. When applied and absorbed, there's no stickiness even with a generous amount. It doesn't exactly feel powdery, but it does make the skin surface smooth. I apply FGF first, then EGF, and even with both, there's no heavy or sticky feeling. Interestingly, last summer when I only used serum and a light moisturizer, I felt a subtle deep dryness. After using the EGF&FGF ampoules, that feeling disappeared. However, it's not a cheap product for its clear formula. With effective ingredients like retinol readily available these days, I don't feel this product is absolutely necessary. I already have a retinol ampoule, and since I'm prone to blemishes, I'm also interested in Vitamin C ampoules. So, I'm not sure how long I'll continue with this product. Nonetheless, I'm using it well personally, and it's worth trying for those interested in functional products! ● Air exposure These ingredients are reportedly difficult to stabilize in liquid form at room temperature. That's probably why Swanicoco's product comes in a dropper bottle with an extra inner cap to minimize air contact. A pump bottle would be even better, but they must have their reasons. ● Irritation Like most functional ingredients, it can cause irritation! If you have sensitive skin and want to try it, it's best to start with a low concentration of about 1ppm. ● Price It's not cheap. The EGF+FGF set usually sells for around $100. However, during major sales events like holidays or Parents' Day, they often offer discounts, allowing you to save about $20-30. Also, other brands offer EGF or FGF products if you don't want to stick with Swanicoco. ● Additional note While I wasn't using these products when I used an MTS roller, I've heard that these high-functional products work well in synergy with such treatments. I recommend thoroughly researching this aspect before combining treatments. - li****Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 15, 2022
I'm currently using acne ointment, which has made my skin super sensitive. I wanted to use a regenerating ampoule, so I checked the ingredients on Hwahae and decided to try this product with EGF. My skin is peeling a bit due to the ointment, but these ingredients are definitely gentle and non-irritating. I've been using it for about a week now, and after applying, it absorbs naturally while providing hydration and moisture to my skin. I wish the packaging was a bit more minimalist. I heard that using it together with FGF creates a great synergy, so I'm using it in combination with the Swanicoco FGF ampoule.
