As someone with super sensitive skin, I've always focused on gentle, hydrating products for my skincare routine. However, I often felt like something was missing. Especially now that I'm in my 30s, I've noticed changes in my skin's elasticity and the appearance of fine lines that weren't there in my 20s. I decided it was time to add an anti-aging product to my regimen, which is when I came across Paula's Choice's new release and decided to give it a try. One of my concerns with vitamin C products has always been oxidation, which can lead to product degradation. I was pleased to see that this product comes in a vacuum pump container, which helps alleviate that worry. Additionally, I appreciated that it uses a vitamin C derivative instead of ascorbic acid, making it less likely to irritate sensitive skin. A single pump provides enough product for both eyes, and its gel-like texture absorbs quickly when patted in. Given its vitamin content, I primarily used it at night. I applied it not just around my eyes but all over my face, and after about three weeks, I noticed my complexion looked more even and brighter overall. When applied to the face, there's a strong, characteristic vitamin smell that can be quite potent. Also, if you apply a bit too much, the product tends to pill, so it's important to use just the right amount. Most importantly, despite being marketed for sensitive skin, I experienced a burning sensation and irritation when applied around my eyes. As a result, I had to use only a tiny amount in the eye area and mainly applied it thinly over my entire face or mixed it with a moisturizer. I would find it difficult to recommend this product to those with super sensitive skin.
