It removes impurities from deep within the skin, while also providing exfoliation and soothing effects. That's why I'd highly recommend this to anyone in need of acne care and calming benefits! 🌟 First of all, the cleansing power is amazing! These days, I just wear sunscreen, but one cleanse is often not enough, right? I was curious if this product alone would be sufficient, so I intentionally tested it with some of my commonly used makeup products. Even without excessive rubbing, the rich, creamy lather was able to thoroughly remove my makeup. I was able to confidently finish my cleansing routine with just this one product after applying sunscreen. The only product it couldn't fully remove was waterproof mascara!! Secondly, the soothing effect is truly great! I was worried that strong cleansing power might irritate my skin, but this product is very effective at calming it down. Upon checking the product information, I found that it contains 4-type Cica, which is why my skin felt so quickly soothed. 🌿 Thirdly, the exfoliation is also top-notch! There was no irritation like I sometimes experience with other skincare products. The 4th generation LHA ingredient helps refine the texture, leaving my skin soft and pore-unclogged, so I've had fewer new blemishes. With the improved skin texture, my makeup also applies more smoothly! 💄 I'm so glad I discovered this amazing product and I plan to continue using it instead of my previous one! I highly recommend it as a daily cleansing routine! 💖
ConsWhen rolling the product on the face more than 10 times, there is a slightly stinging sensation. If your skin is sensitive, especially around the eye area, you may want to use a lighter touch in those areas.
TipI use this as my evening cleansing product, working up a rich lather. When rinsing, I don't need to scrub hard, as the product rinses off easily with just a light water flow.

Previously, I used a low pH product, but I didn't really like the slippery feeling, so I found myself reaching for it less often. I heard that using only low pH products for cleansing can be one of the main causes of blemishes, so now I use a low pH cleanser in the morning and an alkaline cleanser in the evening. While alkaline products have the advantage of giving that squeaky clean feeling, they can also be quite drying. However, this product, being mildly alkaline, left my skin feeling clean without much tightness after washing. I have skin that tends to develop dead skin cells if I don't use an exfoliating pack or scrub every few days, especially noticeable when applying makeup. But since this product contains laha ingredients, I was amazed that I didn't need to exfoliate separately, and dead skin cells didn't build up except for a bit around my nose. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an alkaline cleanser that cleanses well without being too drying.
ConsI wouldn't recommend using this alongside retinol products. It seems the peeling ingredients in this cleanser can cause a bit of a tingling sensation when used together.

Cons* Eye irritation Unlike other foam cleansers, this one seems to get into my eyes more easily, even when I keep them tightly shut. It can be quite irritating at times. You really need to keep your eyes firmly closed when using it
TipA safe bet

These days, it's hard to find alkaline foam cleansers since mildly acidic ones are trending. I've been using neutral pH cleansers, but they don't remove sebum well. I applied for this product through Hwahae's tester recruitment because it was listed as mildly alkaline. Pros: - Leaves skin squeaky clean, recommended for oily to combination dehydrated skin - Being mildly alkaline, it effectively removes oil and sebum I have oily skin around my nose, forehead, and dry cheeks. Even after cleansing, there was an odor near my nose, but this product reduced that issue. - Dense foam texture! The foam itself looks compact, not watery. A small amount mixed with water produces ample lather. - Controlled dispensing It doesn't dispense too much at once, allowing for better portion control. While some may prefer a larger amount, I appreciate that it's not wasteful. - No skin blemishes I've been avoiding AHA/BHA products lately due to using retinol and preferring separate sebum softeners. Despite containing LHA, this product didn't cause irritation, redness, or tingling for my sensitive skin. - Minimal eye irritation Despite being mildly alkaline, it didn't sting or redden my eyes much. On a scale where Etude's Soon Jung foam is a 10 in gentleness, this would be about 6.5-7. My eyes are sensitive post-LASEK, but I didn't find it uncomfortable to use.
ConsI didn't notice many downsides initially. - Slightly smaller volume compared to other foam cleansers, but not a major issue. - Has a slight rubber or petroleum-like scent, but it's not strong or particularly bothersome. - Eye irritation?! I didn't notice at first, but today when removing makeup, it suddenly stung a lot. It could be due to either: 1) Oil from eye makeup remover mixing with the cleanser and getting into my eyes, or 2) Not lathering enough before use. The second reason seems more likely. When I re-lathered thoroughly, it was fine. Make sure to create plenty of foam before use to avoid leaving residue. For reference, I usually use Make P:rem Safe Me foam cleanser and Aestura Theracne foam cleanser. Make P:rem is mildly acidic and gentle, while Aestura is less squeaky clean but better for skin barrier and hydration. While I like my current products, I might try this Nine Wishes alkaline cleanser when I run out.
TipFor a richer lather, squeeze some onto your hands, rub together, then add water. If you experience eye irritation, try this method.

It truly feels like the perfect middle ground between a low pH and a regular foam cleanser. Gentle on the skin with adequate cleansing effectiveness. My mom, who has dry skin, absolutely loves it!
ConsI must be allergic to one of the ingredients in this product. It's my first time using a Laneige product, so I'm not sure if that's why... While using it, I noticed it was clearly less irritating than my previous foam cleanser, but I felt a slight tingling sensation. After a few days of use, I started experiencing itchiness and bumpy allergic reactions all over. Also, the texture is on the thicker side, and the opening is smaller compared to other products, so it requires more effort to squeeze out.
TipIf you experience an allergic reaction, stop using the product immediately. There's no such thing as a purging phase with this - continued use will only lead to dermatitis. If you don't have any allergies, this seems like a truly great cleanser! My mom ended up being very satisfied with it and continues to use it.
