I popped into Daiso and this caught my eye, so I grabbed it along with Danahan's red ginseng essence. Haven't tried that one yet though! While it's my first time using calendula extract, so I can't compare, I can say it's been great. After popping a pimple or when inflammation occurs, I soak a cotton pad and apply it. It really helps calm things down and prevents scabbing. The scent is... well, what you'd expect from calendula? Kind of herbal, medicinal. The price is fantastic too. Highly recommend! I noticed they also had red ginseng extract from Chaebi Space. That's next on my list to try! There's not much to complain about, but... since it's a water-based formula, you need to be careful it doesn't run. Might be good to transfer it to a spray bottle. Looking closer, I noticed there are no preservatives??? It's a single extract ingredient, which makes me wonder if that's okay. After reading about people in the US losing their eyesight due to preservative-free artificial tears, I'm a bit concerned. I apply it by soaking cotton pads - perfect for a toner pack! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinDec 5, 2022
I tried this when I had unexplained blemishes. At first, I was skeptical, but around the third day, I noticed they were visibly fading! I realized it's excellent for calming the skin! When my skin is super sensitive, I avoid products with active ingredients and only use gentle ones for skincare. During these times, I replace my usual toner with the Calendula toner, applying it in 3 layers. (When I have more time, I sometimes do 5 layers!) After letting it absorb thoroughly, I follow up with essence and moisturizer. When you open it, there's a distinct herbal scent, which I personally enjoyed. Would definitely repurchase! It's essentially a watery toner! This might be disappointing for those who don't like watery formulas. As for me, I'm a fan of watery toners! *As suggested on the product, it's great to soak a cotton pad generously and place it on problem areas! *Given its watery consistency, while you might not need to do the '7-skin method', applying 3 layers gives a feeling of deep hydration! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 30, 2022
The versatile formula that can be used as an exfoliating toner, regular toner, or mask is what I loved most. I was skeptical about its effectiveness and gentleness due to its affordable price, but I regret doubting it as it completely shattered my preconceptions. Despite its low cost, I was most concerned about its claim to be non-irritating. However, from the moment I received it until now, I've used it consistently without experiencing any blemishes or tingling sensation even once. While using functional products to calm blemishes or improve skin condition is good, I've found that using the most basic, gentle product is actually the most important. I use it as an exfoliating toner by soaking a cotton pad generously. It absorbs well, and even though I have dry skin, I feel a lasting hydration that I'm extremely satisfied with. As someone with extremely dry skin that usually cracks around this time of year, this product has been a game-changer. It doesn't fall behind any other product in terms of both price and effectiveness. There's really nothing to complain about... If I absolutely had to mention something, it would be the scent. Given the high content of extracts, it smells exactly like calendula. I'm not sensitive to fragrances so it didn't bother me, but if you are sensitive to scents, I'd strongly recommend smelling it in person before purchasing. I highly recommend trying it as a toner mask too. In this dry season, applying it before makeup while drying your hair helps your makeup go on smoothly and stay hydrated. Being such a gentle product, it's perfect for worry-free, frequent use. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 25, 2022
It seems great for soothing and hydration! Recently, my chin and forehead have been acting up, staying red even after washing my face or coming back inside, and even after applying moisturizer. But while using this, the redness has noticeably reduced. I guess that shows its effectiveness in calming the skin. Also, if you have a painful blemish, mixing this with a modeling mask in a 1:1 ratio works even better for soothing the skin. The scent isn't pleasant. It's kind of like... the smell of decaying flowers? It reminds me of the odor you get when flower petals have been soaking for too long, which makes me hesitate before applying it. Also, the texture is very runny like water, which can feel slightly drying (not actually drying, just the sensation). It works much better when applied with a cotton pad or used in a hydrating mask or modeling mask. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinNov 22, 2022
As someone with combination dry, sensitive, and blemish-prone skin that reacts to seasonal changes, hormones, and even natural ingredients, I find this product really great. I had a pimple on my forehead, but after squeezing it and applying this product with a cotton pad every night, it healed cleanly. I didn't even need to use scar cream, and the mark faded significantly. It's incredibly hydrating too. I use it as a cotton pad mask every night, which has calmed my skin's heat-induced texture. It also works wonderfully with the moisturizers I apply afterwards. My routine includes this product, followed by The Lab Blanc Doux essence and SNature Squalane Moisture Cream (with a drop of green tea oil at night). I haven't felt this comfortable in my skin for a long time. Highly recommended! While it's not exactly a drawback, the scent might be divisive. I'm not particularly sensitive to fragrances, but at first, I wondered, 'What's this smell?' I gradually got used to it though. Upon careful sniffing, it's reminiscent of wild grass mixed with wildflowers when crushed. That might sound odd, but that's the best way I can describe it! Strongly recommended for daily care as a cotton pad mask.
