Since the scalp is also skin, it gets just as dry. So after blow-drying, I thoroughly moisturized and absorbed the product into my problematic scalp. I bought this because my scalp was itchy. After shampooing, applying it to my scalp helps improve the itchiness and significantly reduces flakiness.
