(I'd love an expert to confirm if all the ingredients are biodegradable too!) - As someone who's been loyal to cleansing oils for over a decade, I bought this product to support Banila Co's environmental efforts. - I tested it with concealer, and it removed makeup effectively while cleansing pores as well as an oil cleanser.
Cons- It's harder to rinse off compared to cleansing oils. The slippery residue lingers much longer. (This is why I switched back to cleansing oils after trying Banila Co's original and The Face Shop's products before.) A second cleanse seems necessary, and even then, a gentle cleanser might not be enough. - While the ingredients seem fine, my face developed slight redness and tingling in spots. Perhaps from prolonged rinsing? It did calm down after applying my skincare routine. - The text on the box and container is too small! I knew the product details from online research, but my mom in her 50s can't read it at all. The white text color doesn't help either. I wish they'd focus on user-friendliness as much as environmental protection.
TipIt would be fantastic if small plastic items like spatulas and toner pad tweezers, which are often not recyclable, could all be made from biodegradable materials. I hope other brands follow Banila Co's lead in this!
