Every evening, I use cleansing oil for my first cleanse, but on days when I only wear sunscreen, I thought it would be nice to have a cleansing milk as it's less heavy. The emulsion-like texture applies smoothly, making it pleasant to use. I even tried it after wearing foundation, and it cleansed thoroughly without leaving any makeup residue! I think just using an eye makeup remover and this milk cleanser would be sufficient for removing makeup. I used to cleanse with oil daily, which also removed sebum, but the milk cleanser doesn't extract sebum as effectively. Still, alternating between the two works well! While using it, I didn't think it had a citrus scent. As I massaged it on my face, I got used to the smell, but when I first sniffed it, I thought it might not contain any fragrance. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinAug 21, 2023
1. Among all the cleansing milks I've tried, this one removes makeup the best. It's a testament to how far technology has come. 2. It cleanses thoroughly with just a rolling massage, no need for cotton pads or rubbing. Gentle yet effective. 3. Non-irritating. My blemish-prone skin felt comfortable and soothed. 4. Highly recommended for those seeking a mild way to remove makeup or sunscreen. The only downside is that it doesn't effectively remove sebum... This is the most disappointing aspect. It doesn't clear out the sebum in nose pores. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinAug 21, 2023
While it has a thick texture when applied, it emulsifies quickly with water. The finish provides just the right amount of hydration without any residue, leaving skin feeling refreshed. I appreciated that it wasn't irritating even when used around the eyes. If you massage it for too long, it can make your skin feel a bit oily, but it doesn't completely dissolve makeup. Compared to cleansing oils, its thicker consistency requires more effort to work into the skin. It's more viscous than oil cleansers, so it takes a bit more effort to use. However, even if you only use this milk cleanser for your first cleanse, fortunately, any residue can be removed just by wiping with toner afterwards. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 21, 2023
This cleanser stands out for its gentle feel. I've been using emulsion or milk-type cleansers, but this one has a thicker, more cream-like texture that feels comfortable compared to my usual products. It's not irritating at all, and the scent isn't overpowering. It effectively removes light makeup like cushion foundation, thin layer of liquid foundation, eyebrow product, lip color, and blush. However, for a thorough cleanse and that squeaky-clean feeling, a follow-up with a foam cleanser might be necessary. The emulsification isn't particularly impressive. After some massaging and adding a bit of water to emulsify, it was somewhat challenging to remove sebum effectively. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAug 21, 2023
I was lucky to receive this cleanser just before my trip, so it became my travel companion throughout. True to its milk cleanser nature, it has a gentle emulsion texture. Applying this soft milk cleanser to my warm face gave a pleasantly cool sensation as I massaged it in. The lightweight emulsion formula has a delightful citrus scent. What really impressed me was that it didn't cause any tingling on my skin, which was a huge plus. I've had issues with other emulsion cleansers irritating my face before, so this was a welcome change. I didn't bring a separate eye makeup remover, so I used this milk cleanser for everything. With some gentle massaging around the eyes, it effectively removed eyeliner and eyeshadow without any trouble. Since it's not specifically for eye makeup, there was a bit of mascara left between my brows, but I just gave it another round of massaging to clean it up. Plus, I followed up with a foam cleanser for my second cleanse, so there was no residue left behind. My only disappointment isn't really with the product itself, but more with the limitations of cleansing emulsions in general. It seemed to struggle a bit with deeply cleansing pores and removing excess sebum. If you're looking for a refreshing way to remove makeup on hot summer days, instead of using sticky oils, try this cleanser with its invigorating citrus scent. Cleanse Me is the perfect choice for a light and fresh cleansing experience! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAug 20, 2023
I tried a milk cleanser formula for the first time, and it had a perfect emulsion texture. Personally, 3 pumps were just right, and after cleansing, my skin felt less tight compared to foam cleansers or watery cleansing oils! I'd recommend this for those with dry skin. There were no sensitive reactions after use, and its cleansing effectiveness was good enough to remove base makeup. I appreciated the environmentally friendly aspects, like the easy-to-remove label and the use of recycled plastic. It didn't remove mascara completely. I'd recommend using a separate lip and eye makeup remover. Those used to removing all point makeup with cleansing oil in one go might find this a bit inconvenient. In that sense, its effectiveness in cleansing blackheads and sebum was also somewhat disappointing. The citrus scent mixed with the milky aroma inherent to the formula, creating a rather ambiguous impression. I noticed they have an unscented version, which I'd like to try. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinAug 4, 2023
- Cleansing effectiveness I honestly didn't have high expectations when I applied for this product, thinking I'd use it for light cleansing, like removing sunscreen. I assumed its cleansing power would be weak, being a milk cleanser. However, for the sake of writing a review, I decided to test it thoroughly and started with a full face of makeup. After rinsing with water, I was truly amazed! While my mascara is admittedly easy to remove with lukewarm water, even my eyeliner and tint came off completely! Since then, I've been using it regularly, regardless of whether I'm wearing makeup or not! - Gentle on skin This might be the product's biggest advantage - it causes absolutely no irritation. Everyone's skin is different, but my face easily turns red even from just cleansing. With this product, there's no redness, and my skin feels comfortable! It's quite remarkable. Recently, my skin has been acting up with blemishes and sensitivity, but I've been able to care for it without any irritation using this product! - Texture After switching from an oil cleanser to this product, I really appreciate its relatively thick, creamy texture. There's no worry about it dripping, it doesn't run down my arms, and it's so easy to massage into the skin! - Scent Perhaps due to the citron water content, there's an initial fresh scent that turns into a somewhat unpleasant smell at the end. Considering it's a natural product, this is to be expected, but it doesn't quite give that refreshing, clean feeling while cleansing. - Sebum removal While this is a limitation of milk cleansers in general, it's not as effective at removing sebum compared to oil cleansers. Especially in the T-zone and butterfly zone, even with prolonged massaging, sebum builds up much faster than when using an oil cleanser. It seems to struggle with dissolving sebum effectively! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAug 3, 2023
Here's my review after being selected as a Hwahae Tester: I have oily and combination skin with deep dryness. Pros: - Texture As a cleansing emulsion, it's heavier than water but much lighter and fresher than oil! The texture is close to a regular emulsion. I was skeptical about its cleansing power at first, but after using it, I found it to be a great milk cleanser! It's gentle, hydrating, and perfect for morning use or evening use on skin with just sunscreen or light makeup. It applies smoothly and comes in a generous size, making it suitable for liberal use. - Scent / Design There's a subtle citrus scent, which might appeal to citrus lovers. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the scent, so I might opt for an unscented version next time. Given that it's a makeup and sunscreen remover, I expected a more refreshing scent for summer use to help remove excess oil and impurities. However, the minimalist design of the packaging made it a pleasure to use in the bathroom. The pump bottle with a clear on/off switch on the cap made storage convenient. - Repurchase Intention I would consider repurchasing once I've used it up. However, I'd probably go for the unscented version next time. The large volume makes it great for light cleansing, and it's perfect for everyday use, especially in summer when I'm not wearing heavy makeup. I wasn't a fan of the citrus scent. Also, during the emulsification process, I wasn't sure if it was effectively dissolving my excess oil and impurities. However, I realized its cleansing effectiveness was actually quite good when I noticed nothing came off on the cotton pad after use. I wasn't a fan of the citrus scent. - The body emulsion formula is gentle on the skin, causing minimal irritation. - It effectively removes sunscreen. - Unlike oils, it's not thick when applying and spreads smoothly. - If you're not a fan of cleansing oils, I recommend trying this milk cleanser. It's moisturizing, making it great for combination and oily skin types. For dry skin, it might be best used during summer. - Being sensitive to scents, I found the initial citrus fragrance a bit off-putting, but you get used to it. (Next time, I might opt for the unscented version) - Unlike cleansing oils, it doesn't emulsify well. The sebum removal isn't as noticeable as I'd like. - A second cleanse is necessary. If you only use the cleansing milk, there's a lot of residue left behind. Apply the cleansing milk to your bare face, massage for 30 seconds, then use warm water and massage for another 30 seconds. If there's a lot of residue after rinsing, remove it with a cotton pad and immediately follow up with a foaming cleanser for your second cleanse. For the second cleanse, I recommend using a gentle or slightly acidic foam cleanser! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJul 28, 2023
I have super sensitive and extremely thin dry skin! Recently, I started experiencing itchiness when using cleansing oils, so I was thinking about switching products. That's when I was lucky enough to be selected as one of The Hwahae Testers and got to try this out. First off, it's creamy with great absorption, making it incredibly smooth to use! Despite being a cleansing milk, it's surprisingly thick and doesn't drip. It cleanses thoroughly without causing any eye irritation, and after washing, my skin doesn't feel tight but remains moisturized! For me, the scent was more unique than I expected, so it took a little time to get used to it. Also, compared to cleansing oils, it doesn't seem to be particularly effective at removing blackheads or excess sebum. Pump 2-3 times onto dry skin and gently massage in circular motions. You'll be left with beautifully hydrated skin!
