BLACKROUGE Double Layer Over Velvet Gallery [DL13 Gothic Jujube]

A warm, burgundy color with a sophisticated atmosphere. While the swatch on the back of the hand appears quite deep, the lip color is slightly more muted when applied. This is not a fall/winter shade, but rather a calm and atmospheric burgundy red that would be suitable for spring and summer. If the deep burgundy red is too overwhelming, I would recommend this Gothic Juicy Couture shade. The formula is velvety but still hydrating, without any dryness. As time passes, a slight sheen develops, and there is minimal transfer when drinking. While the pigmentation is not extremely strong, I personally prefer a more seamless application, which this product delivers. The formula is also very smooth and blendable, so it applies evenly whether using a tool or your fingertips. I also appreciate that the color payoff is true to the original shade. The scent has evolved from the previous Overvelvet's caramel popcorn to a vanilla and sweet fruit aroma in this Gallery line. The fragrance also seems to have become more subtle, with just a hint of vanilla. If you're not a fan of strong scents, this could be a positive aspect.

Personally, I find the product works well both on its own and layered, so I don't have any major complaints.
