The fragrance is identical to the shampoo - a lovely green scent. It seems to have even better staying power than the shampoo. I haven't gone more than two days without washing, but even on the second day, the scent lingers pleasantly. The fragrance lasts long even when using the treatment alone without shampoo. Since it's a treatment that can be used on the scalp, I usually apply it there. Once every 1-2 weeks, I focus on massaging it into my scalp and use a different treatment for my hair ends. I leave it on while showering and then rinse - it works hard for improving hair texture! It's not a heavy, oily treatment, but more of a thick cream-like texture. Even when left on the scalp for a long time before rinsing, it doesn't feel greasy, yet it makes my hair feel silky smooth. This product is more effective as a scalp treatment rather than for the hair ends.
