Mist spray is great!
ConsI didn't feel that the fixing power was that good even when I sprayed this, it all flew away

When you spray it on your brush and apply eyeshadow, the color payoff is noticeably better. If you mist after skincare and before and after base makeup, it seems to reduce darkening.
ConsTo be honest, I had high hopes for the makeup longevity, but there wasn't much difference with or without the spray. I didn't feel like it prevented my base makeup from separating either. I'm wondering why I even bought it. It feels like a waste of money.
TipAs mentioned above, spraying it on your brush before applying eyeshadow improves color payoff. Using it before and after your base makeup seems to reduce darkening.

What I liked about using it: • Decent staying power After spraying the fixer, makeup definitely lasts longer and fades more gracefully without looking messy • Fine, even mist Sprays evenly across the face without forming droplets, so it doesn't cause makeup to clump • No tight or dry feeling Though it sets to a matte finish, it doesn't make skin feel tight or dry, so it's comfortable to use • Works well for touch-ups Lightly misting over faded makeup and patting gently helps refresh the look without caking
ConsHas a slight scent While not overpowering, there is a subtle fragrance when spraying. Those who prefer unscented products might have mixed feelings about this.
Tip1. Spray a layer during base makeup Lightly misting before applying cushion foundation helps base makeup adhere better and last longer 2. Use with a sponge for better setting Lightly dampening a sponge with the fixer and patting it on helps set makeup more thoroughly for a flawless finish 3. Set eye makeup When eyeshadow or eyeliner needs extra staying power, spray some fixer on the back of your hand, lightly dip your brush in it, then apply to boost longevity

While Banila Co. makes great powders, their fixers are even better. With a fine mist spray and pleasant scent, it truly keeps your makeup looking fresh for hours.
ConsThere's honestly nothing bad to say about it. The only slight challenge might be avoiding getting it in your eyes when applying. That's really the only potential drawback.

It's especially effective on oily days, keeping your look fresh and intact without any breakdown. I loved how it mattified my skin while maintaining hydration, avoiding any dryness. The fixer spray distributes evenly, allowing for uniform application across the face. Once absorbed, it feels weightless and comfortable on the skin. The pleasant, subtle fragrance made it a joy to use.
ConsOn the downside, when first spraying, some droplets might clump together and leave marks on the face, so you need to spray from a certain distance, which can be a bit tricky. Also, while it does set makeup well, those who aren't fans of a very matte finish might find it a tad drying. Particularly for those with dry skin, a more flexible setting fixer might be necessary.

I've always used He* mist, but as I was running out, I wanted to try something new during a sale. I chose the Banila Co Prime Primer Setting Fixer after thoroughly reading the reviews. No matter how great a sale is, I always skip products with poor reviews. I don't just use the fixer as a final touch to my makeup; I apply it at various stages when I need things to set. I spray it after finishing my skincare, after my base makeup, and once more when I'm completely done. Oh, and I also spray it on my makeup puff. This product has such a fine mist with excellent dispersion that unlike He*, where I needed three or four sprays at the end, this one would be too much if used that way. A couple of quick spritzes seem to do the trick. Some people mentioned it leaving droplets, but I haven't experienced that or any clumping, which is great. The staying power seems to work well enough. The quantity is generous, and the price is wallet-friendly. If the product hadn't been good, it would've been relegated to the back of my drawer, but it's definitely a smart buy that I'll use regularly. There's a noticeable difference between using a fixer and not using one, so I recommend incorporating it into your routine. I highly recommend the Banila Co fixer - it doesn't feel heavy or cakey, but instead settles lightly like a mist to set your makeup.
ConsThere wasn't anything particularly disappointing about this product. The volume is generous, and the price is great, so I recommend it. Oh, and the double-lid design means you don't have to worry about the nozzle getting clogged.
TipWith He*, I had to fan my face slightly after spraying, but with Banila Co's ultra-fine mist, it dries so quickly that there's no need for that. This means you can spray it at any point during your makeup application when you want to set something, and continue right away without any issues.

I didn't experience any irritation when using this fixer. It didn't cause any additional breakouts. - Spray power: The fine mist allows for even application. - Feel on skin: Thanks to its excellent spray, it doesn't feel heavy on the face and is quite lightweight. You might even wonder if you've applied it at all. Also, when sprayed over a matte foundation, it adds a slight satin glow, making them a great match! - Staying power: It definitely helps makeup last longer compared to not using it. In winter, you could say your makeup doesn't budge at all. For extended wear, you might notice slight buildup in the pores, but you can easily pat it down with a cushion puff. You don't even need to add more foundation, just patting with the puff is enough. If you layer your makeup well, even eye makeup doesn't smudge and truly lasts long. In summer, you'll need some touch-ups though. - Packaging: It has a double lid, so there's no risk of leakage! The only downside is having to close it twice, which can be a bit tedious, but it's perfect for worry-free travel.
Cons- While makeup does last longer than without it, it's not as miraculous as some people claim. - Just spraying it at the end of your makeup routine won't guarantee perfect setting! I found that spraying between foundation layers works best for proper setting. This means you end up using more product than expected. - As someone with oily skin, my makeup tends to break down faster compared to those with dry skin. I imagine this would be absolutely amazing for people with dry skin.
TipSpray after applying sunscreen, then apply a layer of foundation and spray again. Repeat for the second layer of foundation, and finish with a final spray. This method keeps your makeup intact for about 8 hours. After that, you'll need to touch up!

I apply it once after my base, once after foundation (spritz it on the sponge while patting), once after applying contour powder and blush (also on the brush), once after eyeshadow and mascara, and then one final overall spritz. With this routine, I don't even bother taking any touch-up products with me for the day, except for lip products! The mist is so fine that it distributes evenly without leaving any water marks, which is an incredible advantage.
ConsThere are no downsides, none at all... My skin has become so dependent on Varcov fixer that I can't do my makeup without it now.

Urban Decay is too pricey, and other options might lack fixing power. After seeing positive reviews, I decided to try the Vanilaco fixer. I switched from the Too Cool for School fixer, which had a slight moisture content that didn't provide outstanding fixing power but gave a subtle glow, making it great for fall and winter. The Vanilaco one has no moisture at all and has a fine mist spray that evenly fixes makeup, making it perfect for summer. I apply it after skincare, base makeup, and full makeup. On a typical day, it holds up well from 8 AM to 6 PM. The ultra-fine mist is so light you might wonder if anything came out, but it actually covers evenly. It's ideal for those with oily or combination skin.
ConsAs someone with combination skin leaning towards dry, I found it slightly lacking in hydration.
