Skin type: Combination dehydrated skin (oily T-zone, dry cheeks) + Combination skin Shade 21 I used it in this order: Skincare (toner + aloe gel) ➡️ Sunscreen ➡️ Brightening moisturizer Texture: As you can see in the first photo, I expected it to be creamy since it's a brightening moisturizer, but it's actually creamy + rich! Fortunately, it's just thick enough to spread easily with your fingers. I usually don't like heavy products in summer, but this didn't feel heavy when applied, and I liked how it adhered well to the skin for a lightweight finish. Scent: I loved the refreshing citrus scent! Brightening effect: My usual sunscreen provides a subtle brightening effect, so I was hoping this cream would offer a bit more. When I applied both products, the brightening effect was somewhere between foundation and sunscreen! I mainly used it on my neck to match the tone with my face. I still use foundation, and when I applied it over this product, there was no pilling! Longevity: Since I don't usually go out for long periods, please refer to other reviews for this aspect! I typically go out for about 5-6 hours, mostly staying indoors, so I didn't notice any issues with longevity when cleansing in the evening. However, when I tested it on my hand (applying it in the same order as my skincare routine) and tried to rinse it off with water after an hour, it came off easily. So, the longevity might not be great. But I didn't expect much in terms of longevity since it's a cream :) Blemishes: I didn't experience any blemishes while using it! I tend to be more lenient with fragranced products when I like the scent, but this didn't cause any acne.
ConsFunctionality: It claims to help with wrinkles and brightening, but it's hard to tell without long-term use. During the 7 days of use, I didn't notice any creasing, and I couldn't really see a brightening effect either. This is to be expected, so I'm not particularly disappointed. However, unlike foundation, which provides both brightening and coverage, this brightening moisturizer is really just for evening skin tone. If you want coverage, you'll need to use a concealer separately, which can be a bit inconvenient. Also, it's a bit disappointing that it doesn't have sun protection... Repurchase: Although I received this for free as a Hwahae Tester, if I were a paying customer, I'd say that since this product is meant to be used after sunscreen, I'd probably just use a sunscreen with a brightening effect instead. In summer, I prefer lightweight products, and when I'm in a rush, I don't think I'd take the extra time to apply this product. However, I'm satisfied with using it to even out the color difference between my neck and face! It's too heavy to use foundation on my neck, but this is light enough to apply easily. If it had sun protection, I might consider repurchasing!
TipMake sure to use this after applying sunscreen!

The texture is a slightly thick, opaque cream with a refreshing citrus scent, which I personally love. What I really liked was how it naturally brightens the complexion and applies thinly. As someone with combination dehydrated skin (dry cheeks, oily T-zone and U-zone), it adhered well to my cheeks without pilling, which was great.
ConsWhile the overall feel wasn't bad, I noticed it tended to pill on areas with blemishes or small bumps. This might have been due to my skin being particularly troubled during that time. The natural brightening effect is nice, but it's a bit inconvenient that it only provides brightening and not sun protection, so you need to apply sunscreen separately. I tried it with two different sunscreens - a mineral one with a brightening effect and a chemical one with minimal brightening. With the mineral sunscreen, you need to be careful with the amount as it can lead to double brightening. With the chemical sunscreen, while it was fine on my cheeks, it still pilled and emphasized dead skin cells on my T-zone and U-zone. I'm not sure if this is just my skin issue...
TipSince this product doesn't have sun protection, I highly recommend applying sunscreen separately. Also, as the cream is on the drier side, it's best to ensure your base skincare is well-hydrated.

The texture is quite rich. I recommend applying it on well-moisturized skin after thorough skincare prep. This improves absorption and application significantly. The texture and application feel similar to mineral sunscreens. 2. The scent is bursting with vitamin goodness - you can instantly tell it's packed with various vitamins. It has an uplifting, fresh aroma that somehow puts you in a good mood. The scent definitely gives hope that it'll help with brightening and anti-aging! 3. Coverage-wise, it can conceal basic wrinkles and pores, but of course, it won't cover acne. 4. The brightening effect is truly noticeable. I have a reddish-yellow undertone (around shade 21-22), and it instantly gave me a radiant, fair complexion. If you have a similar skin tone, be careful with the amount - a little goes a long way. Even a thin layer makes your skin look brighter. After your usual makeup routine, it absorbs naturally over time, leaving your complexion evened out. 5. The staying power is impressive too. I've attached photos right after application and after being out and about for a while!
ConsI wish it had sun protection too. Layering sunscreen, brightening moisturizer, and foundation might feel too heavy on the skin. So, except for workdays, when I want a bit of coverage but feel shy about going bare-faced, I mix it with sunscreen.
TipApply a small amount gradually on well-moisturized skin for best results!

It's close to unscented, but if you smell carefully, there's a hint of refreshing lemon-like scent which I really enjoyed! ✅ I appreciated that it wasn't one of those brightening moisturizers that make your face look unnaturally white and detached from your body. Despite its thick, white texture, I was worried it might turn my face ghostly pale like old-school tomato sunscreens, but that wasn't the case at all. It brightens your skin naturally! ✅ The generous amount makes it perfect for applying to the neck or chest area when wearing a tank top. Even just applying it to your neck while wearing makeup on your face works great! ✅ Contrary to my first impression, it didn't feel heavy, and perhaps because of that, it didn't seem to cause any blemishes.
Cons❌ As mentioned earlier, the texture is quite thick, which made it difficult to apply. It doesn't spread easily. I usually use brightening moisturizers when I'm feeling lazy about makeup and want to quickly apply something before heading out, but this one requires careful application, which I didn't like. Be sure to control the amount! When I first used it, I squeezed out too much and ended up looking like the photo... ❌ It doesn't provide coverage... It really just brightens your skin tone! ❌ I have somewhat visible pores, and I felt like the product tended to settle into them, often making the overall application look worse. This could be due to my lack of skill in applying it though. ❌ The lack of sun protection meant I had to apply sunscreen separately, which was a bit of a hassle.
TipMake sure to control the amount carefully! After applying the brightening moisturizer, setting it with powder will make it last longer and enhance the texture of your skin.

When I'm too lazy for full makeup but don't want to go bare-faced, I apply this lightly before heading out. While it doesn't cover blemishes, it gives my skin a soft, matte finish with a subtle glow, making my complexion look beautiful. When I first received the product and tested it on the back of my hand, I was worried it might be heavy or sticky because the texture seemed quite thick. But after applying it to half of my hand and waiting a while, I noticed the treated area was moisturized inside yet powder-soft on the surface without any stickiness! For someone like me who really dislikes stickiness and heaviness, this is perfect. The scent is lemony or orangey, which might be divisive. I'm not usually a fan of such fragrances, but I've gotten used to this one as it becomes more subtle over time.
ConsIf you don't control the amount well, it can pill. I wish it had sun protection too. Applying sunscreen before this brightening moisturizer tends to cause more pilling.
TipI don't get greedy with the amount. Even though it's a bit of a hassle, I layer it on bit by bit. This method helps reduce pilling.

In hot weather, too much oil can make your skin look overly shiny, so I prefer cream types in summer! It's fragrance-free and has a rich, creamy consistency.
ConsWell, if you have very dry skin, you might need to apply a solid base skincare routine before using this. As it's a rich cream type, I noticed my skin felt slightly dry after some time had passed.
TipFor those with dry skin types, I'd recommend applying a thorough base skincare routine. Mixing this with a hydrating moisturizer seems to give a more dewy look and reduces dryness.

It's fragrance-free. ※Application Despite its thick texture, it spreads more smoothly than expected. It doesn't apply with a watery feel, but rather like a rich cream that melts softly as you spread it. It adheres well to the skin without feeling greasy or sticky, which I really liked. It leaves your skin feeling fresh and matte, almost like bare skin, so it should be great for those with oily skin types, especially in summer when a heavy feel can be irritating. ※Brightening effect As you can see in the photos, the brightening effect is truly outstanding. Even with a small amount applied, you can clearly see the difference between the treated and untreated areas. The brightening effect is so good that you need to be careful with the amount to avoid looking ghostly. Highly recommended for those seeking an immediate and noticeable brightening effect. In addition to evening out skin tone, it also has a slight texture-refining effect, helping to cover small blemishes and blackheads. ※Ingredients True to its name as a brightening moisturizer, it not only whitens upon application but also contains ingredients that provide real skin-brightening benefits. It contains niacinamide and 10 types of vitamins, which should be beneficial with continued use. After using it for a few days, I didn't experience any blemishes.
Cons* Depending on your base skincare, it may pill slightly. * It's disappointing that it doesn't have sun protection. * When sprayed with water, it dissolves into a white residue as seen in the photo, so you may need to reapply when sweating a lot.
TipHighly recommended for those with oily skin who experience excess oil in summer, want simple skincare when it's hot and humid, or desire a definite brightening effect.
