Everyone seems to describe the scent quite differently. And I read a blog review by someone else, and they said that they think people will have mixed feelings about Open Arms. (They didn't seem to like it much...) I tried a sample, and I felt it was similar to the trendy niche fragrances these days. There's a sharp citrus note at the beginning, and then a very strong woody impression. There's no sense of fruitiness at all, just a bitter, woody scent. And the truth is, the lasting power isn't that great... When I sprayed it at home, the scent was there, but as soon as I went outside, it disappeared right away. So I ended up spraying it on multiple times from the start, and it was just too much. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAug 19, 2023
The scent is unique and pleasant. Right after spraying, it smells like peeling an orange - it's truly the essence of orange! Not sweet, but a pleasantly tart orange aroma that I really enjoyed. After a while, it transforms into a subtle floral scent reminiscent of fresh water, which feels refreshingly floral. The lingering scent is a woody aroma with hints of citrus. It's similar to the incense sticks often used in dimly lit cafes, with a slight temple-like quality. I personally love that scent, so I absolutely adored the lingering fragrance. Since it's not your typical citrus scent, if you're a fan of citrus, you'll definitely love this. I'm not particularly fond of citrus but love woody scents, and I still enjoyed it because the lingering woody aroma is incredibly appealing. I gave it 4 stars mainly because of the scent. Unfortunately, the longevity is terrible. I bought it for its amazing lingering scent, but I can barely smell it. It fades away so quickly... This was a major point of consideration. If there's one positive, it's that you can spray it liberally without it becoming overwhelming, so you can apply it frequently and generously. However, I prefer fragrances with better longevity because I find reapplying bothersome. I especially wished the appealing lingering notes would last longer, but that's not the case. Honestly, it's not even that cheap, yet its longevity is worse than drugstore perfumes, which is disappointing. Maybe we're paying for the 'emotional value'? If you're looking for longevity, you might want to invest in department store fragrances instead.
