  Existing serums were in a thin, watery formulation, but since this is a gel serum, it has a certain texture while still being a lightweight formula that absorbs quickly. I've been using the gel serum after the toner pad, and while there is a slightly slippery feeling on the surface when applying it after the toner pad doesn't absorb well, it generally absorbs nicely.
