After using it, I loved how it left my skin feeling moisturized. It seems to help calm my skin down too. It contains some potential allergens, so you need to be careful and keep an eye out if you have sensitive skin. The product appears to provide good hydration and soothing effects, which are positive aspects. However, those with sensitive skin or allergies should exercise caution and patch test before full application. - he*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinInner DrynessRecommendedApr 23, 2025
It's like Chanel for modeling masks... haha. It's incredibly hydrating and gentle on the skin, living up to its price tag. The cooling effect is milder compared to other products. And the price is truly wicked! You can get it at a somewhat reasonable price only when you buy it during group purchase events - sk*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 3, 2025
I used this modeling mask thinking it wouldn't be anything special, but it's even better than what I get at the dermatologist's office! Now I understand what a real modeling mask should be like. The smell is nauseating. It gets even worse when you put it in the mixing bowl... This is honestly the most challenging part to deal with. - cj********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMar 12, 2025
📍For combination dehydrated/super sensitive/redness-prone skin 📍Scent • Spirulina scent (seaweed, ocean aroma) 📍Texture • More gel-like compared to regular modeling masks (Remains soft and gel-like even after setting) 📍Application • Easiest to apply and remove among all modeling masks I've tried. Even beginners can use it effortlessly if they measure correctly with a spoon. Very hydrating and gel-like, making it incredibly smooth to apply. Mild cooling effect without any irritation. 📍Recommended skin types • Suitable for all skin types due to its gentle nature, but especially great for dry skin! (Not recommended for oily skin as it has good adherence but low absorption.) As a hydration-focused product, it didn't fully meet my needs as someone with combination dehydrated skin... While it's absolutely amazing for hydration and deep dryness (truly moisturizing!), I think I might be sensitive to one of the ingredients. I alternate between using this and other masks, but only this one causes small blisters on my cheeks. I stopped using it after about 6 applications. It seems this mask doesn't agree with my skin. Other people seem very satisfied with everything except the price. I won't be repurchasing. The 900ml volume also feels less than stated - surprisingly small amount. I'm not sure which ingredient is causing the issue, but I recommend thoroughly researching before purchasing, especially considering its high price, as some people like me might find it doesn't suit their skin. - ch**************Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedDec 24, 2024
I've only tried budget modeling masks before, but this one is incredibly hydrating in comparison. I often use modeling masks to reduce heat sensation, but this one doesn't have the cooling effect compared to other brands, so it's not very effective for that purpose. As for value for money... I'm not sure, but while it's more hydrating than other products, it's hard to give it a full score. - ha******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedNov 29, 2024
I've tried many modeling masks, but this is the priciest and the best. As someone with redness and super sensitive dry skin, the cooling effect and hydration from this are unparalleled! Since using this, I can't go back to sheet masks. It's also easier to apply than other modeling masks. When you put it on, there's a subtle scent of mugwort rice cake wafting up. The price... that's the downside, right? It's not something you can buy on a whim unless it's on sale. The regular price is nearly $100 for 900ml. After cleansing, apply toner and your functional products, then layer on the modeling mask - it works without irritation! I can't use pure vitamin C or retinol due to sensitivity, so I use vitamin derivative serums or niacinamide ampoules before applying the mask. After removing it, I follow up with a rich cream. No need for expensive facials! - to********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedNov 13, 2024
Cooling soothing effect. Hydration boost. Refreshing sensation. The bouncy texture of this modeling mask gives a nice, firm hug to your face. You can feel it tightening your pores. Throughout the entire masking session, you can sense the moisture being delivered to your skin under the mask. No heat buildup at all. I accidentally added too much powder (oops!). Since I applied about two portions' worth to my face at once, it went on quite thick and heavy. I felt bad wasting it, so I left it on for over 20 minutes, but the inside of the mask still felt cool. Compared to other brands with tea tree modeling masks that have a peppermint-like coolness, Itaka's Spirulina mask feels more like ice-cold water. It's like splashing your face with chilled water straight from the fridge. When you apply this modeling mask, it's as if you're putting a layer of frost on your face - it's incredibly cool and refreshing. As someone who often deals with skin heat, I focus on products that can reduce that sensation. I had no idea Itaka's modeling mask would be this cooling. I absolutely love it! Plus, it deeply hydrates the skin. After removing the mask, my complexion looked clearer and brighter. The hydration level is significantly higher compared to other modeling masks. Even when it's fully dry, the mask remains elastic and pliable. There's absolutely no powdery residue. It peels off in one go - perfect! I've tried many modeling masks, and this is in a different league compared to those in the $10-20 range. Instead of splurging $50, you're better off using cheaper ones for everyday use and saving Itaka for when you want something special. The Spirulina has a distinct scent. It's the color of seaweed, like kelp or kombu. There's a smell reminiscent of mugwort rice cakes, but it's not artificial - more like fresh herbs. Honestly, the price for a whole container is a bit steep, and the amount of product is small. But if you break it down, it's about $3.60 to $5 per use when you divide the total cost by 18 applications. Instead of spending $40 at a spa, you're investing $4-5 at home. That seems doable. Spending this much weekly feels like a spa treatment at home. Depending on your face size, you might need to use more powder, but considering it's a high-end mask, when you analyze it closely, the price doesn't seem too high for its performance. While the unit price is higher compared to other masks, when you see your skin after use, you can tell where the money went. It feels worth the investment. Use one scoop of powder (included) Water should be about 2/3 of the scoop It's not a 1:1 ratio You need just a bit of water Powder 1 : Water 0.7~0.8 I bought it during a YouTuber's discount event, but apparently there are no more events now. The regular price is around $90, but during events, you could get it for about $65. - hm******Combination SkinAcne SkinOct 22, 2024
When removing after use, this modeling mask peels off cleanly without causing a 'desert skin' effect, leaving a firm and supple feeling. Its slightly thicker consistency makes it easier to apply and control compared to other modeling masks! The cooling effect is subtle compared to other products, which might be disappointing if that's what you're after. If you're looking for a strong cooling sensation, you might want to choose a different product. Also, the spirulina scent is quite strong - it's a bit like the smell of blood sausage? Considering the price, I think I'd opt for a different product... I recommend applying the modeling mask right after leaving a sheet mask on for about 5 minutes. The ampoule from the sheet mask gets absorbed, making your skin feel incredibly soft and smooth! - ch*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 17, 2024
I started out using cheap modeling masks from Coupang, but they felt too harsh when removing. So I began searching for masks suitable for dry, sensitive skin. That's when I discovered this non-drying mask and decided to give it a try. Even after 15 minutes, it stays moist without drying out, causing no irritation and quickly soothing my skin. I have severe redness issues, and this mask seems to help with that too. The scent is... quite unpleasant... It has a strange odor I've never encountered before. I suppose this must be the famous spirulina smell everyone talks about? Ha ha! At first, I assumed it would be the same amount as regular modeling masks, so I used two and a half cups. But you only need to use one cup! - kb********Combination SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedAug 18, 2024
Compared to other modeling masks, this one has a jelly-like texture that feels wonderfully hydrating. It's also great for soothing the skin. The only downside is that the retail and group buy prices aren't particularly cheap. I found it similar to the Bola Young Spineam Powder. There's quite a bit of excess powder that can be messy. While there aren't any major drawbacks, it's not something you should buy with overly high expectations. While it doesn't feel exactly like Itaca, if you make a modeling mask with aloe gel, it becomes incredibly hydrating, almost like jelly. Here's a tip for a budget-friendly Itaca alternative: Mix Petit Spirulina, aloe gel, and water in a 4:3:1 ratio. If your aloe gel is already thin, skip the water.
