No product seemed to help with the tiny bumps and rough texture... Then I stumbled upon an Instagram ad for this Emu Skin product. I bought it at a discount, and day by day, I could feel my skin barrier getting stronger! It felt like my skin was becoming more resilient (this is not an ad, I swear). Thankfully, though not 100%, my blemishes calmed down significantly before the wedding. Thanks to Emu Skin, my makeup applied beautifully on the big day! I didn't realize it at first, but the emu oil in this product is quite an expensive ingredient. Other brands sell it for hundreds of dollars... I wanted to stock up, but it was sold out on their website, so I bought it on Coupang for a few dollars more. I read that sensitive skin often reacts to plant-based ingredients in cosmetics, and since humans are animals, we should use products with animal-derived ingredients. This really resonated with me. I used to buy vegan cosmetics, but they always seemed to cause irritation... I thought I had combination dehydrated skin, but it turns out I'm super sensitive too. Please, I beg you, don't discontinue this product!
ConsThe website suggested mixing 3 parts toner with 1 part emulsion for combination skin, but applying them separately worked better for me. I apply the toner directly to my face, and then pat the emulsion gently into my skin with my palms.
TipHere's a pro tip for combination dehydrated skin like mine: Don't use this product alone. Apply plenty of hydrating toner and serum first, let it absorb, then follow with Emu Skin. The oil in Emu Skin seems to lock in the moisture from the other products. Now that it's winter, I've also bought the Emu emulsion and apply it only to my U-zone.
