Ready for your winter skincare routine? Guerlain launched this product in September 2023. I was too busy during the early winter to try it out, but now I'm determined to step up my skincare game! So, what's so great about this product?

First off, the Orchidée Impériale collection is arguably Guerlain's most luxurious line. The orchid, with over 30,000 species, is known as the queen of flowers, defying the passage of time. Some orchids can live for a century - imagine harnessing that incredible vitality for skincare!

Now, let me introduce you to the product! The Essence-in-Emulsion Concentrate contains 22% skincare essence. It's more than just an emulsion - it helps restore your skin's oil and moisture balance and revitalizes your complexion. In other words, it's an emulsion infused with essence.

The signature Orchidée Impériale blue packaging is absolutely exquisite! Compared to previous versions, the gold detailing is more prominent, and the brand logo is printed, making it look even more high-end. You might be familiar with the original Essence-in-Emulsion, right?

This new Essence-in-Emulsion Concentrate offers 15ml more product than the original (of course, with a price increase). The glass bottle now features an elegant noir gradient design. My favorite improvement is the new pump that dispenses just the right amount! (The old pump was really subpar...)

The texture is smooth and milky, almost like an emulsion. I have combination skin with an oily T-zone and slightly dry cheeks. I found it absorbed well in both areas. It has a pleasant orchid scent that gives a refreshing sensation during application. This is the amount dispensed with one pump - I have a fairly large face, but I think half a pump might be enough!

While the application feels great, results are what really matter! The Essence-in-Emulsion Concentrate contains 22% skincare essence and 96% naturally-derived ingredients. Usually, my T-zone gets oily within 1-2 hours after washing my face in the morning. After using this for a week, I noticed my skin stayed oil-free for about 3 hours. I can't comment on its anti-wrinkle effects as I don't have those concerns (yet?), but it never hurts to start anti-aging care early!

Lastly, let me share my skincare routine:

While it doesn't deliver extraordinary results, it's quite expensive for what it offers. You might want to think twice about whether it's worth spending this much money on it.

The texture feels like a combination of toner and emulsion. It's not ideal for dry seasons, but in summer, using just this and a moisturizer creates a perfect oil and moisture balance. I appreciate that it doesn't cause any blemishes.
