It's so good that you might wonder if you even need concealer, except for major scars or hyperpigmentation. And since you can build it up, you can always add another layer if you need more coverage. The way this foundation adheres to the skin is mind-blowing. It clings so well that it doesn't budge or look cakey at all. While it applies thinly and feels lightweight, it sets to a matte finish. You might only need powder in oily areas like the T-zone. It could feel a bit dry for those with dry skin, but as someone with oily skin, I'm thrilled. The staying power is outstanding. It barely breaks down, even in the height of summer when you're sweating buckets. Even after hours of wear, if it does start to fade, it does so evenly and naturally, blending with your skin's oils in a way that still looks beautiful. While it looks fine when first applied, as it sets on the face, it tends to bring out redness, which is unfortunate. The foundation sets incredibly fast, so you need to work quickly. If you try to apply it with a spatula and then blend with a puff, you're already too late. You need to apply small amounts and blend immediately with a puff. It takes some skill to avoid a patchy finish, so I'm deducting one star for that. In areas with excess oil, like around the nose, it can ball up and break down. Does Hera have a darkening issue? Both their cushion and liquid foundations seem to oxidize significantly. The color change is noticeable enough to make your face look dull. Trying to touch up mid-day can lead to a patchy look due to the color difference. The oxidation is quite problematic, so I'm deducting another star.
