I once received a treatment sample and fell head over heels for the Black Tea & Fig scent. I've been obsessed ever since! Texture: When freshly opened, it has a rich oil-like consistency that seems to flow slightly. However, when I tested it in-store, it felt more like a slightly thick hand cream. Scent: The woody aroma is deep yet not overpowering, with a certain je ne sais quoi. It's the perfect scent for winter! Longevity: Unfortunately, it doesn't last very long on the skin. Portability: Excellent portability, just like a hand cream. You can easily slip it into your bag, unlike traditional glass perfume bottles that are a hassle to decant. Additional notes: I also tried the Sandalwood scent, but it wasn't my cup of tea. Unlike this one, it lacks any hint of sweetness and is quite intense. It seems to be a love-it-or-hate-it fragrance. Sandalwood enthusiasts adore it, but it's not for me.
Cons1. Price - It's on the expensive side for its longevity. 2. Longevity and Sillage - Disappointing. There are limitations to the solid perfume format. Liquid perfumes disperse fine fragrance molecules that cling to various surfaces, creating a scent cloud. This one can't be applied to clothes, which limits its reach. 3. Testing - Trying to sample the scent was a bit of a wild goose chase. Some Olive Young stores had it, others didn't. The products are scattered across different sections like Dragon Balls - hair oil in one place, solid perfume in another, hand cream somewhere else... I visited about 5 Olive Young stores today just for this, and couldn't find the Eau de Parfum version anywhere. 4. Texture - The solid perfume has some consistency issues. Many users report that it's quite liquid when first used, as confirmed by reviews on the official website. When I tested it in-store, it had a thick hand cream consistency, but when I opened it at home, it was more like an oil. I thought it might be defective.
TipThe official website seems to offer the most freebies and the best prices. However, different retailers may have varying product compositions, so it's worth shopping around to find the best combination of products and price that suits your needs.
