Scent More impressed by the refreshing citron scent than sweet honey. The sweet citron fragrance makes using it enjoyable. Accidentally got some in my mouth - it even tasted good(?) with a slightly bitter citron flavor. 2. Skin texture improvement As I tend to have dead skin cells, texture improvement is essential. After use, my skin felt smooth. Thanks to AHA BHA ingredients, I was satisfied with the texture refinement. 3. Glow While it didn't give a sparkling glow, there seemed to be a subtle, coated-like radiance. Conclusion: Likely good for those whose skin agrees with it, not recommended for those with redness. Didn't feel strongly compelled to purchase it with my own money, decent product, need to use it more to fully assess.

  First off, the product's appearance reminds me of honey, and the contents inside have a color very similar to real honey too. I expected it to smell like honey, but surprisingly it had more of a citrus scent. As someone who loves citrus fragrances, I really enjoyed it. Even for those sensitive to scents, the fragrance isn't overpowering, so it should be comfortable to use. The ingredients are great, and I personally love wash-off masks because they allow you to complete your skincare routine in one go.

  It's a bit disappointing that it doesn't come with a spatula. I had my own that I used, but for those who don't, they'll have to scoop it out with their fingers, which isn't very hygienic. Also, the product itself is quite runny, so if you apply too much, it tends to drip. I recommend using just the right amount.

  Pros

  As someone with dry skin, I usually find scrub-type exfoliators too harsh, but this one removes dead skin cells very gently while keeping my skin hydrated. After use, my complexion felt clearer. I especially liked that even after leaving it on for 15 minutes, my face didn't feel dry at all. Despite its thick consistency, it rinsed off easily with just water, without needing a separate cleansing foam. The artificial honey scent wasn't too strong, so it didn't bother me.

  Cons

  1) The box packaging arrived in a very shabby condition, almost to the point where you could see the contents inside. It really lowered my expectations before even using the product. 2) It comes in a jar form but doesn't include a spatula. If they redesign it into a tube format during the next renewal, it would be much more convenient and hygienic to use. To be honest, I had never heard of the company True Island before, so my expectations weren't high... But apart from the inconvenient packaging, the product itself is quite good!

  If you follow up with a hydrating sheet mask after washing this off, your makeup applies beautifully the next day!

  Skin type: Originally combination, now normal to dry This is exactly the kind of mask I needed. A pack full of hydration and glow! Except for one ingredient, the formulation is surprisingly good. I thought there might be fragrance because of a subtle scent different from honey, but I was surprised to find it's fragrance-free! It has a faint, warm aroma reminiscent of childhood cough syrup, which makes application a pleasant experience. Being a honey mask, I was worried it might cause a burning sensation, but there was none of that. On days when my skin feels particularly dry or after wearing a mask for long hours, applying this at night seems to replenish moisture and alleviate dryness. This is my first honey mask, and I can feel a different kind of hydration compared to regular moisturizing or sheet masks.

  Cons

  Those with oily skin will definitely have strong opinions on this (for those with dry or normal to dry skin, while the texture might be hit or miss, the moisturizing effect will likely be appreciated). As expected from a honey mask, it's extremely sticky. Without fully securing your hair with a headband or pins, your hair and face will become one. The feeling of hair sticking and pulling when you try to remove it always gives me the creeps! To prevent the stickiness from becoming a drawback, you absolutely must pull all your hair back before use! While wash-off masks can be more convenient than sheet masks in some ways, the application process and time required can be more cumbersome. I'm using an old spatula from a previous product, but for those without one, using hands to apply raises concerns about contamination. I kept my old spatula for environmental reasons (?) to use in situations like this, but since it's in a jar form, most people will likely use their hands directly... Given the texture, this aspect seems a bit inconvenient.

  Tip

  If you find this mask too sticky and daunting to apply, or if you dislike the feeling of it dripping during application, try mixing it with a small amount of moisturizer or cream. This makes it easier to apply. However, since this mask has significant benefits on its own, you don't need to do this every time. I use this method about 2-3 times out of 10 applications!

  This is a review from one of The Hwahae Testers! The packaging is a slightly transparent yellow, which looks clean and nice. ●Texture When I opened the lid and removed the inner cover, the formula was as sticky and runny as honey, so I spilled a little. Be careful when opening it. When applying, you need to be cautious not to drip it on your clothes. Scoop it out carefully and spread it evenly. ●Scent Although it's called honey, it smells more like lemon. The lemon scent isn't too artificial, which is nice. ●Application As I mentioned earlier, the texture is sticky and runny like honey, so you'll inevitably have to apply it thickly. I used a brush to apply it, but I think using a spatula would be better. It might be difficult to apply with your hands. It spreads evenly and doesn't clump in any particular area. It doesn't dry even after a long time, so be careful not to get it on anything! ●Irritation My skin has been sensitive lately, often getting irritated, red, and stinging, but this product caused no irritation at all! Just avoid applying it around the eyes and mouth. ●Washing off I usually don't like wash-off masks because they're hard to remove, but this one comes off relatively easily. However, it still took some time to wash off, probably because I applied it thickly. I followed up with a mild acidic foam cleanser just to be sure. ●After washing After cleansing, I definitely felt my skin texture improve and become more hydrated. My skin felt a bit smoother. Make sure to follow up with your regular skincare routine for additional hydration to see the best results. The next morning after using the mask, my skin condition was still good.
