I've been feeling like my scalp was oily and stuffy lately, so I tried the Squeak shampoo, and wow... From the first use, it feels incredibly refreshing and invigorating! As soon as you open the lid, the burst of mint scent instantly lifts your mood. Every time the salt granules touch your scalp, it feels like you're getting a professional scalp treatment. I'm absolutely in love with the ingredients too. The sea salt gently exfoliates dead skin cells and sebum from the scalp. The peppermint and spearmint oils provide a cooling effect that soothes heat and adds a burst of freshness. The lime extract helps create a clean finish that's squeaky clean without feeling stiff. For oily scalps or days when you're dealing with excess sebum, I don't think there's a better shampoo out there! If there's a downside, it's that the solid granules might cause irritation if you scrub too hard. Also, if you have color-treated hair, it might fade your color faster due to its strong cleansing power. That's why I recommend using it once or twice a week as a deep cleansing treatment for your scalp. - pl**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedApr 9, 2025
1. While I'm not 100% sold on all the ingredients, I was pleased to see sea salt and various fruit extracts in the mix. 2. The sea salt works wonders as a scalp exfoliant. After shampooing, I noticed significantly less dead skin cells. I was initially concerned it might be too harsh for my dry scalp, potentially causing more flaking, but it actually reduced flakiness considerably! 3. As someone who's not a fan of artificial fragrances, I found Squeak's scent pleasantly subtle. It has notes of lemon and orange, reminiscent of those orange-flavored candies from childhood. The aroma evokes nostalgia and leaves a delightful lingering scent after washing. 4. This is a completely animal-product-free shampoo, certified by the UK Vegan Society. With clean beauty and vegan products trending, this is definitely worth considering if you're in the market for a vegan shampoo. - As mentioned earlier, the use of artificial fragrances is a bit of a drawback. It's a characteristic of Lush products, with 99.9999999999... percent containing artificial scents. It's unavoidable, but worth noting. That said, I did enjoy this particular fragrance despite it being artificial. - While the sea salt particles are supposedly smaller than those in the Big shampoo, they're still quite coarse! As mentioned in the drawbacks, the sea salt particles are quite coarse. Because of this, applying the shampoo directly to your scalp and scrubbing vigorously could potentially cause irritation. I recommend following my method: dispense some into your hand, add a bit of water to soften it, then apply to your hair.
