I've been using this since last winter, and for a moisturizing lip product, it's not sticky at all. It looks beautiful whether used as a base or on its own. I think it would suit both cool and warm skin tones! It's a bit disappointing that the color deepens over time. This effect is even more noticeable when applied to dry lips. I recommend applying lip balm, waiting a bit, wiping it off, and then applying this product. - tj*****Dry SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedJun 13, 2025
I tried using this on its own, but it was a bit too light, so I paired it with Espoir's Petal Punch (which is usually too deep and intense for me!). The combination is absolutely gorgeous, and I've been using it every day. I have tons of lip products and rarely use the same one repeatedly, but I've been reaching for this combo so often lately that I had to give it five stars. On its own, though... maybe three stars? There's truly no staining at all. This could be a pro or a con depending on the person, but I'm really into non-staining lip products right now, so I'm counting it as a plus. - It's marketed as a moisturizing lip product, but I can't really tell that it's hydrating. Maybe it's because there are so many ultra-glossy "tanghulu" lip products out there now... This definitely isn't one you'd reach for if you're after a high-shine look. - There's an alcohol scent! It's not overpowering, but it's noticeable and slightly off-putting. - I have cool undertones and my lips aren't particularly pigmented, but I found the color payoff to be quite weak. I had to use a lip concealer to neutralize my natural lip color before the shade really showed up. - The packaging is square, which limits how much product the applicator can reach. I'm curious if it'll be possible to use up all the product. The review discusses the pros and cons of a lip product, likely a lip tint or gloss. The reviewer appreciates its non-staining quality and enjoys using it in combination with another product. However, they note that it's not as hydrating as expected, has a slight alcohol scent, and provides minimal color payoff on its own. The packaging design is also questioned for its practicality in accessing all the product. - du********Dry SkinRecommendedMay 3, 2025
This is my holy grail! Perfect for those with deep undertones who look great in spring pale shades! Ideal for those who dislike staining and don't suit deep colors! I find that darker or deeper shades often look oddly unflattering or dated on me. But the Alter Lip is so satisfying because it's stain-free and has a clear, bright finish! While many lip products on the market have beautiful, clear colors initially, they often turn muddy and deep when reapplied, which I'm not 100% fond of. The Alter Lip, however, has minimal staining, which I absolutely love! If any product managers are reading this...! I'd be so grateful if you could create shades even lighter and clearer than Vami Rose and Baby Rose, or perhaps some muted tones that still suit deep undertones well! The creamy formula sometimes doesn't come out easily on the applicator tip. When this happens, shaking the product up and down helps the formula adhere to the tip better. - we******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 26, 2025
I've been struggling with cheilitis, so I was only looking for natural tint lip balms. However, I was hesitant because the colors often looked too old-fashioned. I decided to buy this one as it seemed to be a good tint for people suffering from cheilitis. True to the reviews, it doesn't trigger cheilitis flare-ups! The color has a clear, fluorescent pink feel to it. If you're dealing with cheilitis, you must give this a try... I think it would suit those with cool-toned spring or summer complexions really well. The reddening effect becomes quite intense as time passes. When first applied, it looks delicately beautiful, but after a while, when I check in the mirror, it becomes dull and darker. Because of this issue, I deducted one star. I know that alternative products tend to change color easily, so it's probably best to use this up quickly. - el*******Dehydrated SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 14, 2025
The product shots and swatches are in the same position for each item. The first row features Alternative Stereo Lip Potion in Barmy Rose. From left to right: Nudie Apricot / Baby Rose / Soft Mauve The second row: From left to right: Barmy Rose Peach Shower / Barmy Rose Baby Strawberry / Sugar Glaze Peach Ball The third row is all Benefit and Tiptoe: From left to right: Cha Cha Tint / Playtint / Posietint / Tiptoe Jelly Stick Toe Shoes The Lip Potions don't have intense staining power, but the color that does stain matches the tint solution closely, which is satisfying. However, the shine and moisture don't last long, leaving a natural, slightly moisturized feel over time. They have a sweet taste and scent, except for Sugar Glaze, which has a bitter and astringent taste that makes me hesitant to repurchase. I really hope they reformulate it! With the Benefit tints, there's a noticeable difference between how they stain your palm versus your lips. On the lips, the staining effect is less pronounced. Cha Cha Tint, in particular, leaves a pinker stain than the solution color. Benefit tints tend to be drying when used alone. They're considered the original creamy tints. It's such a shame that Posietint is discontinued - that shade was quite unique. The Tiptoe Jelly Tint doesn't really stain, but it has a natural color and feels hydrating. It's great for adding a glossy finish after using other tints, which is why I included it in the swatches. While it feels moisturizing at first, it seems to absorb over time, leaving the skin feeling less hydrated - ch*****Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsApr 14, 2025
I really enjoyed using this because it's so cute and the color is beautiful. It seems like a great shade for those with deep undertones. At first, it was a delicate and pretty pink color, but after a few months, it discolored and turned fluorescent. The staying power is very short, and there's not much shine to it, but it disappears quickly. Also, the rubber around the opening tore. Despite these issues, the color before it changed was truly the epitome of delicateness. Unfortunately, there's more than one disappointing aspect. - su********Combination SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresMar 14, 2025
It gives a natural, healthy-looking flush that's great for daily wear. However, you need to apply it multiple times for the color to show up, as one layer is barely visible. The moisturizing formula feels comfortable on the lips, which is nice. The delicate pink shade would be perfect for creating an innocent, fresh-faced look. Overall, the packaging is quite pretty. I had high hopes for this 'bunny tongue' color, but personally, I found the pigmentation and staying power disappointing. The hydrating effect seemed to disappear quickly, which was a letdown. The poor longevity meant I had to reapply often, which was inconvenient. It might not be enough for those wanting a more intense color payoff. It didn't live up to my expectations, so I don't find myself reaching for it very often. - se******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMar 13, 2025
As someone with sensitive lips who can't use just any product, I was thrilled to find this Glow Lip among the few without phenoxyethanol after researching ingredients. It applies even thinner than Rom's The Juicy and has a lightweight, absorbing formula. Though I have naturally pale lips, this gives a subtle strawberry milk tint - not quite as light as a 'bunny tongue' but a touch deeper, which I love for its soft, non-garish look. It provides a gentle sheen with a hint of glow. The lack of irritation is a huge plus, and the unique packaging design is absolutely stunning. Compared to other products known for their luminous finish, this one falls a bit short in terms of glow intensity and longevity. Considering there are more affordable options in the brightening moisturizer category, the price point feels a bit steep. - je**********Dry SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 12, 2025
I highly recommend this for those with a light, deep undertone! The color is absolutely gorgeous and subtly elegant. Plus, there's no darkening effect! The scent is a bit artificial, which I'm not a fan of... but it's just too pretty to resist! There's a cream blush in the same shade, and when applied together, it creates an even more beautiful look - ps********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 3, 2025
Even though I usually apply light products, my spring pale complexion would always show through. But this one doesn't build up color and goes on incredibly light, making it comfortable to use. The 9ml size is also more generous than standard lip products. The glow effect is a bit weak, so it doesn't cover lip lines well. Also, every time I pressed my lips together, the product would end up in my mouth... It's great for use not just on the lips, but also as a cheek and eye color. For cheeks, apply a thin layer with the applicator tip and then pat it in with a finger puff.
