I was drawn to this product because of its relatively short ingredient list, with fermented extracts as the main component, and the absence of harmful ingredients. Another appealing factor was the potential to streamline my routine by reducing toner and essence steps. I chose it because fermented essence products generally work well for me, but the best part was being able to try the sample first before committing to the full-size product. Rich, oily, RICH! I have combination skin with a dry U-zone, especially during seasonal changes. Lately, my skin has become sensitive due to sudden blemishes after using certain products. I wanted to simplify my skincare routine and soothe my skin, which is why I was interested in using Isamu. Given my skin's recent sensitivity, I tried the sample before using the full-size product. The essence toner was indeed very watery as described, and the scent, presumably from the main ingredients, was pleasant even upon first use after cleansing. However, despite being called an essence, it fell short in addressing deep dryness or improving skin texture, even with multiple layers. Moreover, it feels excessively oily. My skin feels dry underneath but greasy on the surface, making for an unpleasant user experience and discouraging layering. Oddly, it feels relatively matte at first, but the oiliness quickly becomes apparent. My hands feel so greasy after application that I need to wash them before moving on to the next step. The cream from the same line also had more oil than hydration, which didn't work well for me either. The sample was tiny, but I had to stop using it after developing small bumps. While it didn't suit me due to the excess oil rather than hydration, it might work for those with dry skin if applied after thoroughly hydrating the skin. I stumbled upon a sample of this product and it's absolutely amazing! My skin had transitioned from oily to extremely dry, so I was using skincare for oily skin. However, after cleansing, I experienced flaking and irritation. While searching for a solution for my extremely dry skin, I tried this product. Not only did it eliminate dead skin cells after cleansing, but it also hydrated my formerly parched skin, making it feel supple. I'm so glad I tried the sample! After finishing it, I purchased the full-size product and I'm currently using it. It's working wonders for me! After some time, I notice oil coming to the surface. Perhaps my skin is transitioning from extremely dry to oily? I think my skin might be acting a bit strange.
