The skin finish was quite pretty right after application.
ConsHowever, the disappointing aspect for me, as someone who prioritizes coverage and longevity, was that it had virtually no coverage at all, contrary to what I expected. I wouldn't recommend this cushion if you're looking for coverage. The staying power is also short-lived, and it breaks down quickly. I was really surprised by how much it emphasized my pores.

I'm around shade 20-21 with a cool summer undertone. First off, the 1.5 shade is neutral but has a slight pink tint that's more pronounced than other cushions' 21 shade, making it look brighter. It's not overly pink-based though, which I love. The color matches my skin perfectly. The adherence and skin expression are beautiful. The puff is neither too thin nor too thick - just right. I'm on my third compact now!
ConsIt can be a bit drying and emphasize dead skin cells for dry skin types in the dead of winter. It's great for all other seasons though.
TipIf you want a brighter makeup look, go for shade 1.

It feels incredibly lightweight when applied. The shade, particularly 21, gives a beautifully natural look.
ConsDespite claims that it's not too matte, I found it quite drying for my skin. Even though I have combination skin with dry cheeks in winter, I've never experienced this level of dryness with other cushions or foundations. No matter how much skincare I applied underneath, it accentuated dead skin cells and by afternoon, I could feel deep dryness. It's disappointing.
TipI'll give it another try in the summer...

While using the included puff can feel a bit dry when blending, I found that using a separately purchased puff and applying it after a mist or fixer creates a smooth application. The coverage is light, but it adheres thinly to the skin, giving a slight glow. It's not completely matte, starting off neutral and then settling into a matte finish. When it does break down, it does so relatively cleanly, making me want to touch up often.
ConsIt tends to emphasize pores around the nose and wears off easily. Without a fixer, it completely breaks down by evening. I'm currently using the Too Cool for School fixer, which significantly improves its longevity when applied before the foundation. As time passes, it can get oily (you'll need to powder initially and touch up with powder throughout the day).
TipMore than anything, finding the right puff that works well for you seems crucial. The included puff doesn't give the best skin finish, but using one purchased from Olive Young or Daiso can create a much prettier application.

It spreads thinly, creating a natural skin appearance.
ConsI'm not sure if it doesn't suit me, but after using it, my pores become more visible and it seems to emphasize dead skin cells and uneven texture. I bought the semi-matte version for summer, but when it breaks down, it looks quite oily. It might be too difficult to use in the peak of summer.

I tried it on a windy and hot day, and it didn't break down badly. The shade doesn't seem as light as I thought it would be.
ConsThe scent is a bit off, and the more you use it, the more it smells like cigarettes, honestly. It ruins my mood every time I apply it. As the weather's getting warmer and my skin has become oily, it gets really shiny after a while... But it's definitely not a moisturizing cushion either. It actually emphasizes dead skin cells and applies dry - what's up with that? The color isn't pretty either. It's just pale, and doesn't cover redness well (I have redness-prone skin). Also, it really doesn't conceal pores on the nose... It's not worth it at all. Just buy something else. I'm planning to switch.
TipAbsolutely not recommended for dry skin. Only use this if you have zero dead skin cells and don't produce much oil.

The best part is how natural it looks. When I went to school, my friends didn't even realize I was wearing makeup. They just asked why my skin looked so good, and some of the boys even touched my face to check!
ConsDue to the changing seasons, my skin has become very dry. There's some noticeable dead skin cells around the tip and sides of my nose.
TipI think it works even better if you spritz on a facial mist before applying.

Probably the prettiest among all Amuse cushions to date.
Cons1. A cushion that works hard to highlight dead skin cells and pores - I love Amuse's Dew Jelly, so I had high hopes for this cushion and bought it with great expectations. But as soon as I applied it, I was like, 'Huh...?' I was shocked by how much it accentuated dead skin cells and pores. With Dew Jelly, I could apply it carelessly without any skin prep and it would still look fine, but this... It seems like only people with flawless, egg-shell smooth skin can make this cushion look pretty. 2. The darkening effect is off the charts - I applied this before going to work, and after a few hours, my skin looked even darker than my bare face. Is this for real? I have two refills, but I think I'll have to sell them on the secondhand market.
TipAmuse's new cushion is such a letdown... Off to the secondhand market I go.

The color is beautiful, and it's not too dry or too moisturizing - just right!
ConsThe coverage is a bit disappointing. It seems to accentuate the pores on my nose.

Results may vary, but I think your base skincare routine will really influence how this looks on your skin. It's like a perfect balance between semi-matte and full matte... Color-wise, from left to right we have Giverny Milchak Cover Cushion in 21, VanillaCo Coverlicious Ultimate White Cushion in 21 Rose, and Amuse Cushion in 1.5. Even considering that the VanillaCo is a bit older, Giverny was the brightest and most hydrating of the bunch. VanillaCo seemed to have the pinkest base. If you're around shade 21-22, I think 1.5 would be perfect for you! I use 21-22 and it was spot on. Personally, I was really happy with the color - it wasn't too yellow or too pink-based. The product-soaked sponge is a bit firm, so you might need to press a little harder to get the product out. I'd recommend pressing and gently rubbing, then adjusting the amount on the lid. The staying power was great, aside from occasionally highlighting dead skin cells. Unlike other cushions that would slightly darken over time, this one truly didn't darken at all. Despite being matte, it didn't cause any deep dryness for my combination dehydrated skin. They say it contains essence, which might be why... though I'm not entirely sure! I think this could be a great summer cushion. If you want to use it during seasonal changes, make sure your base skincare is on point! BONUS: When I first tried this, it was during the winter-spring transition, which was the driest my skin has ever been. It highlighted my flaky skin then, so I put it aside. But now that the weather's warmed up, I've got my dryness under control, and I'm using a hydrating sunscreen underneath - wow, this is amazing! Even cushions that claim to be long-lasting would always break down a bit, but this one truly stays put. It's incredible! It's also great for touch-ups. This might just become my holy grail for summer!
ConsIf your skin is dry, it can highlight dead skin cells. So you might need to really focus on your base skincare. While the staying power is pretty good, it can start to emphasize flakiness later in the day. (Though I should mention my skin has been feeling extra dry lately, so that might be why I noticed this. When I first applied it over my skincare, I didn't see any flakiness!) The coverage isn't super high - I'd say it's medium. Compared to VanillaCo, which seems to cover everything even with a thin layer, Amuse needs an extra layer for full coverage.
TipIf you need to touch up due to visible dead skin cells, try this: Spritz your face lightly with a face mist, then gently pat a small amount of the cushion on with the puff. Your skin will look as flawless as when you first applied it!
