This cushion is perfect for beginners and has become my go-to after trying many others! When I first started using it, I was a student with super oily skin. Now, I'm closer to having dry skin. I'm still quite young, but I guess this is what happens when you don't take care of your skin! These days, I only use it during summer. For me, there aren't any downsides! Just for reference, I'm between shades 19-20, and I bought this to apply around the edges of my face. So it'll probably last me quite a while. The reviewer's skin type has changed over time, from very oily to nearly dry. They now use this cushion foundation only in summer, suggesting it might be more suitable for warmer weather or oilier skin types. They purchased a slightly darker shade to use around the perimeter of their face, possibly for contouring or to match their neck better. - hw********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 5, 2025
I typically use shade 23 in men's foundation, and Hera's 25N1 is a perfect match for me. Even when I only apply sunscreen before going out, my skin tends to get oily after 1-2 hours. However, I really appreciate the matte finish of the Hera cushion, and I've noticed that it actually helps control oil production. For those with dry skin, I'd recommend applying a thorough base skincare routine before using this cushion. As someone who's borderline obsessive about cleanliness, I dislike when the case gets dirty. Unfortunately, I felt that the case for this product seems a bit fragile and prone to getting messy. - ch**********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedMar 30, 2025
It offers high coverage while still applying thinly if you blend it well. The staying power is great too! It comes out a bit lighter than other cushions, so consider purchasing it as if it were shade 24. Even for combination skin, if you're planning to use it in dry seasons like winter, you'll need to layer your skincare products carefully beforehand. - yo*********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedMar 17, 2025
The staying power is impressive. While it's not great right after application, about an hour later when a bit of natural oil comes through, it adheres beautifully to the skin and looks absolutely gorgeous. I wish they had a Cool Tone shade 25 in addition to the Neutral. Also, it doesn't work well if you rush through your skincare routine before applying. It really shines when you properly hydrate your skin during your skincare routine. - ta*********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 14, 2025
It does a great job of naturally concealing red marks from blemishes or skin troubles. I'll likely repurchase this product. The price seems a bit higher compared to other products. However, since I don't use it frequently, one purchase lasts about 6 months. - ju*********Combination SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedJan 10, 2025
It's perfect for darker complexions! The coverage is great and it lasts well. I especially love that it comes in a variety of shades, making it a product I use regularly. After the renewal, the fragrance has changed to a slightly more artificial scent, which is a bit disappointing. - ju*****Oily SkinSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 1, 2025
With my complexion being around shade 24-25, many Korean foundations have a limited color range for lighter shades. However, I'm not fond of overseas products that can be too yellow or heavy. Hera is a godsend for someone with a deeper skin tone like me, offering a variety of neutral and cool undertones. Even their darker shades are true to color, unlike many foundations that claim to be dark but end up being surprisingly light. I purchased 25N1 Amber, and I was amazed at how perfectly it matched my skin tone - not too dark or light, just spot on. It's literally my skin in a bottle, without any yellow or red undertones. The coverage is excellent. I don't even need concealer for minor blemishes, as it easily covers small sun spots and light marks. It's great for pores too, so I always pack it for travel when I need to minimize my makeup bag. It covers small pores and blurs larger ones in the T-zone. The finish is semi-matte but doesn't feel dry - it's truly matte but moisturized! It gives a beautiful glow that makes your skin look flawless. The Hwahae Testers would approve! The foundation adheres well to the skin without any pilling or sliding. It just sticks perfectly! Despite being a cushion, its staying power is impressive. When used with a makeup base, it easily lasts 7 hours. Even as it fades, it does so gracefully, maintaining a slight glow. You only need to touch up around the nose area. The case is lightweight, making it perfect for on-the-go touch-ups without weighing down your bag. It can slightly bunch up and break down around the sides of the nose, making pores in that area more noticeable. There's noticeable oxidation, darkening about one shade. This is a significant drawback, costing it a star in my rating. The oxidation is so severe that touch-ups can create noticeable tone differences, resulting in patchy-looking skin. While it excels at covering blemishes and pores, the application can feel a bit thick and heavy, which is disappointing. Due to the oxidation and some reviews mentioning the colors run dark, it might be wise to choose a shade lighter than your usual. - ro*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 26, 2024
The staying power is impressive. It creates a beautiful complexion. I got a tan about 6 times for my vacation, so I bought 25N1, which seems to be the right shade. The coverage isn't particularly strong. Also, it tends to accentuate fine lines a bit. - ha******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 26, 2024
The coverage is great and it lasts so long! It's perfect for combination dehydrated skin with blemishes. My complexion is on the darker side, making it hard to find the right shade, but Hera is absolutely amazing! It's a bit too matte, which can lead to some deep dryness in winter. There are also areas where it can emphasize flakiness. In winter, apply a generous amount of moisturizer before the cushion to minimize the feeling of tightness. - he****Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsOct 6, 2024
The powder particles are fine and thin. The case is pretty and lightweight, which is a plus. As someone with acne-prone combination skin who's tried over 20 cushions without satisfaction, I'm a cushion nomad. To cut to the chase... it's really disappointing, especially considering Hera's reputation and price. I bought a set from Olive Young with a mini cushion, mini powder (as gifts), full-size product, and refill. However, the mini cushion came in 21N instead of the 17 I ordered for the full-size, which was initially frustrating. But seeing Hera's luxurious appearance melted my annoyance away. As any experienced cushion user knows, some cushions work well regardless of your skincare prep, while others are highly dependent on it. Hera falls into the latter category. Here are my personal gripes: 1. Poor application: Hera's pursuit of thinness and fine particles means you need to use a lot of product to feel like you've applied anything. The thin layer also means very weak coverage. 2. Extremely matte finish: This cushion would be challenging for combination skin types like mine (oily T-zone) or those with dry skin. I experienced severe cracking and patchiness on my cheeks. That said, with an intense hydrating skincare routine, it can last quite long and look nice. But even then, the quality isn't much better than some drugstore brands, making it not worth the high price. It's inconvenient to need such thorough skincare prep every day. 3. Flimsy case that gets dirty quickly: This really needs to be addressed in future redesigns. The case is so flimsy that the refill pops out with the slightest pressure. The material also gets dirty incredibly easily. I wonder where all that money is going if not into improving the packaging. Please stop making cushion cases like this!
