Once applied, it keeps your skin feeling moisturized for hours.
ConsThe finish felt a bit rich, and I sometimes had the impression that it was sitting on top of my skin rather than absorbing well.

I liked that the pads were large and square. It felt like they adhered perfectly to my face without leaving any gaps. There was also plenty of serum.
ConsThe formula doesn't absorb quickly and tends to be slow. Even when I tried my best to help it absorb, it seemed to sit on top of my skin, which led to persistent milia and blemishes, so I had to stop using it. It's disappointing because of this issue.

ConsAbsorption is slow... or maybe not happening at all? Feels like it's just sitting on top of the skin. It's full of moisture but doesn't seem to sink in... Since it's not absorbing, it doesn't help with surface or deep dryness despite all the hydration. Not recommended for those who already find regular sheet masks don't absorb well. It varies from person to person, but as someone with combination dehydrated skin, I didn't notice any skin benefits. It's not terrible since it prevents dryness when you're feeling lazy and just want to slap something on... You need to squeeze it a bit before applying because it's absolutely soaked.
TipSome people with combination dehydrated skin say it's not bad. It's easy to pass on to family members if it doesn't work for you.

I loved that the pads contained a generous amount of serum. ❤️Quantity & Texture❤️ There's plenty of toner, so you can use it generously. The pad texture and size are perfect for a toner mask, which I really appreciated.
Cons🩶Scent🩶 It has an aloe or soothing mask scent, which personally wasn't to my liking. 🩶Not suitable for exfoliating🩶 While it's great for toner masking, the pad texture and toner quantity aren't suitable for exfoliating. There's so much product that it leaves a lot of residue, and when applying makeup afterwards, the excess toner made my skin feel a bit slippery.
TipI recommend using it as a toner mask in the evening or applying it before using a hair dryer in the morning. It's a great item for toner masking, especially during the dry winter season!

Amount of ampoule - The case is semi-transparent, and you can see the liquid sloshing around when shaken, indicating a generous amount. This allows the pads to adhere moistly to the cheeks, making it great for a mask routine. 2. Pads - Since mask routines are popular these days, small pads can be burdensome as you need to use multiple. However, these 'Illumiel Square Pads' are rectangular and quite large, covering an entire cheek! Highly recommended for those who love their daily mask routine. - The pads are on the thicker side, holding more ampoule, which keeps them moist for a long time. It's great to apply them while blow-drying your hair.
Cons+ As mentioned in other reviews, the watery formula doesn't absorb well after using an exfoliating toner, leaving residue on the face. + The case feels a bit flimsy. The lid doesn't secure well, and the initial opening isn't clean, which is disappointing.
Tip- Recommended more for mask routines rather than after exfoliating toners. - They stay moist and adhere well when applied to both cheeks while blow-drying your hair.

While thicker pads tend to fall off easily when moving around or drying your face, the thinness of these is actually an advantage. They adhere well, making them great for wearing while blow-drying or in the morning. Personally, I prefer the square shape over round ones as they stick better and don't lift at the edges. Packaging: While it's common for pad packages to include tweezers, I was particularly impressed with this one. There's a separate space inside the lid to store the tweezers. This is great because when tweezers touch the pads, they can get contaminated from handling, and if left outside, they might get lost. This design prevents that issue. Gentleness: There's absolutely no stinging or irritation, even when it touches the eyes. I often use them to cleanse the eye area too.
ConsMoisture retention: Due to the thin and light formula absorbed in the pads, the surface moisture seems to evaporate quickly after removal. It might be more suitable for summer use rather than during seasonal changes.
TipThese are perfect for using as a quick mask in the morning after a light cleanse and while blow-drying your hair. They stay put even when you're moving around.

I kept them in the fridge, and when I took them out, they felt much cooler compared to other pads! The cooling effect seemed to last for about 2 minutes, which I really enjoyed. That was the main highlight for me. I didn't notice many other standout features. Since I tried it in summer, I might not have experienced all its benefits, but based on my experience, I think this pad would be great for winter use! It seems like a product that could be really useful if used at the right time of year.
ConsI was disappointed that the lid was difficult to peel off, especially since I had high expectations after seeing it frequently on the Hwahae app. The tweezers couldn't grip the pads well, and when they did, the pads would tear, which was inconvenient. Because of this, I hardly used the tweezers at all. The formula felt watery and didn't absorb well, seeming to just sit on top of the skin. When left on like a mask, it felt like it was making my skin oily, so I think it works best as an exfoliating toner! Lastly, the pad texture is like thin cotton, so be careful when using as it tends to tear easily!
TipFor best results, use it lightly as an exfoliating toner, let it absorb into the skin, then apply your favorite serum. This routine can give you that nice, plump, dewy look from the inside out!

The pads are thoroughly soaked and have a plump texture.
ConsIt only seems to provide surface-level moisture, feeling a bit superficial? The watery texture might be the reason, but... As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I think it might not be enough for me.
TipIf you're too lazy for a full mask, just place one pad on each cheek to soothe your skin. After 5 minutes, remove and gently pat the remaining essence into your skin.

Among all the toner pads I've tried, this product contains the most essence. The scent is herbal, but not overpowering or off-putting. Sometimes when you leave toner pads on for too long, the essence evaporates and can actually draw moisture out of your skin, but with this product, that doesn't happen because the pads are so well-soaked in essence.
ConsAfter removing the pad and trying to pat the essence into my skin, it doesn't absorb quickly and feels a bit like it's rolling off. While this might be great for those with dry skin, as someone with oily skin, I found it a bit heavy to use before applying makeup.
TipSince I don't need a lot of essence, I split one pad into two layers and apply them to my cheeks, forehead, and chin. Even used this way, there's plenty of essence, and the adherence is even better. It's also great that you can cover your whole face with just two pads!

Perfect size, great for both exfoliating toner and mask use. Hydration: 2/5 - While it may not fully address deep dryness, it provides enough moisture to use as the first step before makeup. Scent: 5/5 - As someone who really dislikes scented facial products, I appreciate that this is fragrance-free. Essence quantity: 5/5 - Very generous. Almost overflowing. Skin irritation: 5/5 - Despite having acne-prone skin with scars, active blemishes, and sensitive areas from picking, there's no stinging or irritation upon application. Price: 3/5 - While you can find cheaper options, this falls on the more affordable end of the spectrum. Repurchase likelihood with my own money: 10-20% The hydration level isn't quite enough for deep dryness, and there's a noticeable rich feeling that might bother combination or oily skin types. The slow absorption feels uncomfortable for summer use, while the hydration level feels insufficient for fall and winter. This would likely suit those with less severe dehydration and sensitive, acne-prone skin with less oil production. Considering the price, it's a decent toner pad. The pad material itself is particularly impressive, even more so than the essence.
ConsFinish: 1/5 - I prefer toners, especially as the first step, to absorb quickly with minimal oiliness for a clean finish. This one leaves a slightly slick, rich feeling. Deep dryness: 1/5 - As someone with severe deep dryness, this falls short. Even using it as a toner pack doesn't address the deep dehydration. Absorption: 1/5 - Slow to absorb. It tends to sit on top of the skin rather than sinking in, making it potentially difficult for oily skin types to use. Excessive essence: 1/5 - This could be seen as either a pro or a con. While it's better than not having enough, it drips down to the chest when used as a toner pack. It's inconvenient to have to squeeze out the excess every time, especially given the thin, absorbent nature of the pads.
