I like to use a spatula to spread a thin layer, then pat it in with a puff. The coverage seems to build with each layer. Remember to keep your skin well-hydrated before application for best results.

When applying Dermablock, it's crucial to exfoliate well beforehand, as it can accentuate dead skin cells. Even though I have oily skin, on days when I haven't prepped properly, my skin can look a bit patchy. I imagine those with dry skin might find it quite dehydrating, as other reviews have mentioned.

As someone with oily skin, I prefer matte formulas, and I find that the Dermablock sunscreen initially feels a bit rich, but gradually becomes more matte. Pro tip: If you apply a BB cream and set it with powder, the staying power is quite impressive!

I'm a fan of natural-looking makeup rather than heavy coverage. When I apply this with a puff using a light tapping motion, it provides an even, moderate coverage that I really appreciate. I'm pleasantly surprised by its ability to conceal, and lately, I've been using this as my sole base product.

The texture seems too heavy to apply makeup over. It's better to use this alone. But then again, I'm hesitant to slather on sunscreen thickly because it might make my skin look too thick. It's a dilemma. My solution is to apply a thin layer of another sunscreen first, then layer this on top.

I've been using this as a foundation-free base and it works well. However, it does tend to break down a bit over time, so I need to gently blot with a pad and reapply.

The shade 21 looks natural, and surprisingly, it seems to have decent staying power. For combination skin with an oily T-zone and dry U-zone, it does produce a bit of oil, but not enough to be bothersome.

When you're out and about, it really makes your hair stick to your face. I usually have non-sensitive skin that works well with any cosmetic, but this one causes a tingling sensation - I'm not sure what ingredient is responsible. Also, if you have a darker complexion, it might make your skin appear even darker when applied.

It's great for a light application when you don't feel like doing a full face of makeup. The generous amount lasts for quite a while too.

The scent... it feels like you shouldn't apply too much. Even before any darkening occurs, it's just too ashy. Also, my skin is quite sensitive to sunscreen, and this really stings... In my opinion, it's an item that combines all the worst aspects of both BB creams and sunscreens.

It does serve a purpose somewhere between a BB cream and sunscreen... That's about it.
