The dropper applicator makes it easy to control the amount used.
ConsThere's some pilling, and it felt slightly irritating to me. If your skin isn't in great condition, you might experience a tingling sensation when using it.

This is a product with clear pros and cons. While the advantages make it recommendable, the drawbacks make me hesitant to endorse it. That's why I'm giving it a somewhat ambiguous 4 stars, closer to 3.5. I still feel it's one-of-a-kind among the sunscreens I've tried, but for now, I'm content with having used up one bottle. There are many aspects I wish could be improved, and if the product manager is reading this, I hope these drawbacks can be addressed in a future renewal. It's on my wishlist, which is why I'm writing this review. I recommend reading this carefully before making a purchase. If possible, I strongly suggest trying a sample of this product when buying other IOPE items before committing to a full-size purchase. Overall assessment: Pros: 1. The texture truly lives up to its 'sun ampoule' name. It has a thin, fluid consistency that applies well, though absorption isn't particularly fast. It feels like applying a rich anti-aging serum. 2. It's certified for skin barrier strengthening, and as someone with sensitive skin, I really felt the effects. The best thing about this sun ampoule is that it makes my skin feel as comfortable as when I use a well-suited barrier cream. It noticeably calms the redness on my cheeks, which I found really impressive. I was so captivated by this effect when I tried the sample that it convinced me to buy the full size. 3. The moisturizing formula is perfect for my very dry skin. Those with oily skin might find it heavy. I haven't experienced a summer with this product yet, but I think it might be usable since the texture isn't too thick or heavy. Cons: 1. As someone who's been using sunscreen since childhood, and despite this product being tested for non-irritation, I did experience some eye discomfort. While it didn't cause immediate stinging or tearing, by afternoon I often felt like there was a hazy film over my eyes, and once or twice a week, my eyes would get bloodshot. For context, I have allergic rhinitis and allergic conjunctivitis, with atopic tendencies. 2. The much-discussed dropper packaging. While I understand why they chose a dropper, it's not user-friendly. If you close the bottle tightly and use the dropper to draw up the product, it works fine. But if you try to use the dropper without closing the bottle, it doesn't function at all and no product comes up. This is incredibly frustrating, especially for busy mornings when you're rushing to get ready for work. I actually preferred using the sample tube packaging - it was much more satisfying. I wish they'd make it a pump bottle instead. This is a sun protection product that needs to be applied in the correct amount, so using too little can be problematic. From a business ethics standpoint, considering user-centric design, this type of packaging could potentially lead to inadequate sun protection, which is something they should be aware of. 3. It pills like crazy. At first, I thought maybe I was applying too much skincare underneath, or layering too many sun products. But even when I experimented with minimal skincare - just toner and one serum - and applied this sun ampoule alone, it would still pill along my hairline, jaw, and cheekbones if I rubbed my face after a while. Because of this, I only apply it with a brush, carefully dotting it on and then patting it in with a puff. Even then, it sometimes pills unexpectedly. I only wear this when I'm at home without makeup. If you're sensitive to pilling, or if your skin tends to make products pill easily like mine does, I strongly advise against buying this. Conclusion: While it offers unique barrier-strengthening benefits that set it apart from other sun products, unless the issues with eye discomfort and pilling are improved, I won't be repurchasing. However, if you don't experience eye irritation or pilling, I do recommend it as barrier-strengthening sun products are rare and valuable. The price is reasonable, especially when Olive Young offers special sets with a 40ml full size, a 20ml sample, and a 10ml retinol product. It's a good deal when it's on sale at Olive Young with this configuration.
ConsThere's eye discomfort similar to having a film over your eyes, and it pills like dead skin. It's disappointing.
