It might work better if you apply it before washing and rinse it off immediately. Don't use it as a mask after washing your face! It seems to work well when used to wipe off after a first cleanse with other oils, milks, or water-based cleansers.

Compared to other products, its cleansing power seems a bit weak. To be honest, it doesn't lather up well either. It's said to be usable as a mask, so I tried using it that way after washing my face, but applying it directly on bare skin caused a tingling sensation, so I'm not sure about using it as a mask. When water is added, it does foam up, making it feel like washing your face twice.

The product has a rich texture and cleanses thoroughly. I tried using it for my first cleanse before makeup and as a mask. My skin really improved, and my makeup didn't separate or cake - it applied beautifully.

It's great as a mask - you can apply it, shower, then wash your face. It spreads smoothly, but if left on too long it can be hard to remove, so I apply it in a slightly rougher state for easier cleansing.

Everyone's skin is different, but I have combination dehydrated skin with severe adult acne, including both whiteheads and inflamed blemishes. I have extremely delicate skin, so daily double cleansing can wreak havoc on my skin barrier. Usually, even when I wear makeup, I only remove eye makeup with cleansing water and do a single cleanse with oil for my face. However, while this preserved my skin barrier, I never felt truly clean. So, I've been using a foam cleanser with good cleansing effectiveness in the mornings. The problem is, I have dry skin, and effective foam cleansers tend to leave my skin feeling tight. But this product is different! It cleanses well yet is so gentle you could use it as a mask. There's absolutely no tightness after use! It's perfect for my situation. I think I'll definitely repurchase this with my own money when I run out!
