Pros
The essence-type formula is great for refining skin texture with its hydrating properties. It has a lightweight yet concentrated consistency that absorbs quickly without leaving any sticky residue, which I prefer over heavier formulations.
Cons
As someone with deep dryness, I found this serum alone wasn't quite enough at the ampoule stage. The packaging also makes it tricky to control how much product you dispense. Considering the price point, I'm not convinced it's irreplaceable - there are likely other products out there that could serve a similar purpose.
Tip
For those with combination dehydrated skin, you might want to layer this with other hydrating products for best results. While it absorbs well and doesn't feel sticky, it may not provide enough intense hydration for those battling significant deep dryness on its own.

Pros
The lightweight formula absorbs quickly without interfering with the next steps in your routine, giving a deep hydration feeling. Thanks to the fermented ingredients, my skin texture became incredibly smooth, and I was satisfied to feel an overall boost in radiance and elasticity. It absorbs gently without irritation, making it suitable for use even on sensitive days.
Cons
While the scent is subtle, it has a distinct fermented aroma that might be an acquired taste for some when first using it. The hydration isn't extremely intense, so those with dry skin might need to pair it with more moisturizing products.
Tip
Applying it after toner by gently patting it into the skin with your hands improves absorption and noticeably refines skin texture. It creates an excellent canvas for makeup, which is why I always use it before applying cosmetics.

Pros
It's lightweight and non-oily, making it comfortable to apply. Especially as the weather starts heating up, it's rare to find something as easy to use as this. You can use it without worrying about blemishes, and it absorbs well into the skin. At first, I thought applying just this felt like using only toner, so I always followed up with a cream. But once I realized that using this alone doesn't cause deep dryness, it became a product I reach for often. There's definitely a reason why this product hasn't been discontinued!
Cons
It feels more like a toner than an essence. Because of that, I don't notice any dramatic effects, but I still apply it as part of my basic skincare routine.
Tip
I apply this first after cleansing. It's not heavy, so it penetrates the skin nicely.

Pros
I'm using this as a first essence. It's also fine to use during the essence step. It absorbs like water - lightweight and non-sticky. I can't say I've noticed any extraordinary effects though.
Cons
I didn't feel any remarkable benefits. It's just okay to use. The regular price is quite expensive.

I tried other brands with watery formulas that I usually like, but wasn't satisfied, so I kept coming back to Secret Essence It seemed to work well as the first step in any skincare routine However, over time, I noticed a decline in hydration and overall satisfaction I found myself using more product, but my skin still felt deeply dry, and I couldn't really feel the product's benefits After using SU:M37° as my main brand for over 10 years, I had to stop due to blemishes from one of their products * The fermented ingredients give it a slightly unpleasant, sour smell * While it absorbs lightly and is generally fine, it's hard to notice any real benefits * I knew it had fermented ingredients, but I was surprised to find it contains over 130 different components Actually, when I looked up the ingredients on Hwahae due to skincare-related blemishes, I was shocked by the excessive number of ingredients and some that weren't suitable for me * It's an okay product, but with this ingredient list, I wonder if it's really worth it?
Tip
Secret Essence is still popular, with new versions like pads and mists being released From my personal experience, I found that applying it with your hands and letting your body heat aid absorption works best Although it's a first essence, I found it absorbs better after using a toner to even skin tone or after applying your regular skin lotion, rather than as the very first step after cleansing

It doesn't seem to have much effect. It's just a light, watery essence. At least the price isn't bad.
