This made it easy to apply. I'm not particularly skilled at makeup, and water tints were challenging for me, but this tint has a velvety feel that made application a breeze. - Staining power: This really surprised me. The color sets incredibly fast after application! Usually, water tints stain well, but it's rare to find a hybrid formula with such excellent staining power. I was very satisfied with this. - Color: The most crucial aspect, right? As I mentioned earlier, I have a winter cool dark complexion. I requested this product because of the 'Plum' in its name. However, the plum tone isn't overpowering. If I had to break it down, I'd say it's about 80% pink and 20% plum (see photos 1, 2, 3). I typically use tints that are bursting with plum tones, almost blackberry in color (see photo 4). Even those dark shades blend harmoniously on my lips. That said, this shade, while not strongly plum, would be perfect for summer weather. It suits winter cool tones well, but I think it would also complement summer cool tones beautifully. Dark colors usually suit me best, but this tint is more of a medium intensity, making it great for a lighter look. - Ingredients: My lips are as sensitive as my skin. With some tints, I end up with red, swollen lip lines (I haven't pinpointed the exact ingredients causing this yet). Since this product emphasizes its ingredients, I felt more at ease using it. My lips felt comfortable throughout wear. (Cica ingredients work well for me.) - Transfer-proof: Personally, I consider this aspect extremely important. When my lip color fades, I look sickly. I haven't found a truly transfer-proof product among winter cool-tone cosmetics yet, but this one comes incredibly close. (Maybe 1 out of 100 chance of transfer, which is negligible.) I'm very satisfied with this. - No emphasis on dead skin: To be fair, I might not be the best judge of this since I slather on Vaseline every night. However, it doesn't apply patchily or make my lips look unsightly. That's why I've included it as a positive point.
Cons- Product name: Plum... Plum? It doesn't feel plum-heavy enough to warrant the name. As mentioned earlier, the pink dominates! The plum I had in mind was a true purple shade. So the product name felt a bit misleading. (Just my personal opinion) Of course, I understand this is likely the result of efforts to create a more universally flattering shade. - Dryness: It's dry without lip balm. There's hardly any oil in the formula. So you absolutely need to apply lip balm before or after use. - Scent: It's a bit tricky to describe... Strawberry toothpaste maybe? It's not an overpowering scent, but rather a subtle yet artificial fragrance. It's not bothersome, but it's not particularly pleasant either. However, it's not a major drawback.
