I was intrigued by the tiny green particles inside the ampoule! I was worried they might not dissolve well, but they disappeared instantly when I rubbed it between my palms. Hydration level: The hydration level was between low and medium. Texture: The texture isn't thick or sticky, but rather a light, watery consistency. It absorbs well! I loved that it sinks in quickly without much patting. After a while, I almost wondered if I'd applied it at all! As someone with a skin type that tends to overproduce oil if my skin lacks hydration or suffers from deep dryness, I wouldn't recommend this for combination dehydrated skin. However, it could be great for oily skin types!
ConsFor those of us with some deep dryness, this ampoule might be a bit too light. It didn't prevent blemishes completely. I did experience some minor breakouts while using it. I think this might be because the hydration level wasn't sufficient for my skin, leading to increased oil production and subsequent blemishes. While it did calm down quickly, I was a bit disappointed that the lack of hydration seemed to be the culprit. Compared to other ampoules, I didn't notice any standout benefits. Given that I have other ampoules that provide better hydration and soothing effects, I don't plan to repurchase this.
TipWhen applying directly to the face, the particles tended to slip around without breaking. I found it easier to squeeze some onto my palm and rub it there first - the particles dissolved much better this way!

In winter, my skin isn't as oily as it is in summer! First off, I believe hydration is the most crucial aspect in every skincare step. No matter how soothing a product might be, if there's not enough moisture, I immediately get blemishes. But this serum is moderately moisturizing and gentle. It's not extremely hydrating, so the role of toner and cream will be important. I apply Uriage Xémose toner 3-4 times, then layer this serum twice, and it works wonders! While my skin isn't as oily as in summer, it still produces some oil. But lately, I've noticed I'm not as shiny from morning to evening at work. I realized it might be because of this serum. I'm satisfied with how well it controls oil production! Also, my skin has been acting up lately. I hadn't found a product effective for those tiny bumps in a while. But since using this serum, those bumps have reduced significantly, and I'm experiencing fewer blemishes overall. It makes me want to keep using it consistently. I knew Houttuynia Cordata had a unique scent that people either love or hate. I'd tried a Houttuynia Cordata ampoule before, but it didn't work for me. However, this serum seems unscented, and it's quite effective. So, I'm definitely sticking with this serum!
ConsBased on short-term use, I'm not sure if it actually regulates sebum production. But since it controls oil, I think it might have a positive effect on sebum in the long run! Also, if you have very dry skin, you might want to test it first before buying, as it has oil-controlling properties. While the product itself is moisturizing, it doesn't feel rich and seems to evaporate quickly. You might need to focus more on hydration and moisture with other products. I often apply products in layers using one hand, but with this one, the dropper fits tightly into the bottle opening, making one-handed use a bit challenging.
TipI think a very hydrating toner helps more than anything else! To me, this serum feels like the hydration evaporates quickly. As I mentioned above, I apply Uriage Xémose toner in 3-4 layers or more, and I also layer this serum about twice. This way, I can use it without feeling dry and maintain good hydration! For cream, I'd recommend using whatever super moisturizing cream you normally use!
