Applying it with a spatula and patting it with a puff creates a really thin layer, but the coverage is even better, so I love it.

The color was a bit lighter, and since it had good coverage and was quite matte, it was also a bit thick.

The coverage is legendary, and the longevity is also great. It's moisturizing when applied, adheres well, and provides excellent coverage, so I really love it. I've been using it all the time lately.

The Hwahae Testers found that Hwahae 4 is useless.
While it is limited to 100 units, that does not change the fact that it is useless.

That's fine, but the powder that came with it seems to have just been thrown in there...
I don't really have a need for shade 4.

I find that using a damp puff works better than my hands, as it applies the product more thinly and evenly. If I let the moisturizer fully absorb before applying, the makeup seems to adhere better.

On hot days, I felt like the area around my nose was slightly collapsing. So I recommend using it together with powder.

For about 2 weeks, I've been using it and the coverage and adherence were really good. I usually have a lot of flushing and blemishes, so I tend to struggle when choosing a foundation, but this product was able to effectively conceal skin imperfections with just a small amount, which I was satisfied with. It wasn't drying, and it maintained its hold without any lifting throughout the afternoon. I have combination skin, but I didn't experience any breakouts, and the natural glow made my skin look even better.

Longevity is nothing special, be careful of darkening, and the packaging is frustrating.

The top swatch is shade 22 and the bottom is shade 21 Cool.

Skin appearance: For my combination dehydrated skin with texture and visible pores, I'm not sure if this foundation deserves all the hype. I tried applying it with a brush, spatula, and puff. Right after application, the skin looks smooth and pretty (good pore coverage, not sure about texture coverage). However, the way it breaks down is disappointing. It's extremely matte, so mixing it with a BB cream might be better.

Longevity: Despite its matte finish and seeming to adhere well to the skin, the longevity was a bit disappointing. Instead of breaking down by mixing with oils to create a dewy finish, it seems to sit oddly on top of the skin, making pores and dead skin cells visible. Even with good skincare, it was just... meh.

Also, I felt the darkening was quite severe. Even with a brightening moisturizer underneath, it still darkened. For my shade 21 skin, the About Tone 22 is perfect (it darkens without a base, but hardly at all with one). The About Tone Cool 21 is way too light, while the original 21 darkens severely whether I use a base or not.

Packaging: The puff is really terrible. The container itself is pretty, but the poor quality puff makes rushed mornings a bit annoying. However, I got it for an incredibly good deal on Musinsa, so I guess it's forgivable at that price.

The coverage isn't quite enough to hide blemishes, so it's best used with a concealer.

It exceeds expectations with amazing adherence and decent coverage. Highly recommended for combination dehydrated skin!

When you spread it thinly with a spatula, it really applies in a thin layer. It's not thick at all and goes on beautifully.

I think it might be a bit dry in winter, but I'm considering pairing it with a slightly richer skincare routine, which should work fine.

I was going to get the Warm Light shade but heard it was too bright, so I ordered Cool Light instead. The color is just perfect. It doesn't look cakey at all, and since I apply it thinly with a spatula, it blends seamlessly with my natural complexion.

First off, the staying power is absolutely amazing. When I take off my makeup in the evening after applying it in the morning, there's hardly any patchiness, and it fades much less than my previous foundation. I rarely need to touch up except around my mouth after eating.

I was worried about my dry cheeks, but I used a slightly richer organic sunscreen, and it paired well with the foundation. My skin felt comfortable, and there was no emphasis on dead skin cells.

I hadn't used foundation for years because it was such a hassle, but this one definitely has better longevity than cushions and gives a much prettier skin finish.

I never thought my previous cushion was particularly bad, but this foundation changed my perspective. It's easily in my top five of all the cushions and foundations I've ever tried. I absolutely love it.

I'm curious how they achieve such quality at this price point.

I haven't tried it in winter yet, but I think I'll be able to use it really well from now until summer.

(For reference, I don't have many blemishes to cover, so I prefer a natural coverage that just evens out my redness while letting my skin show through slightly. When applied with a spatula, it gives exactly that effect, which I love. I think you could build up the coverage with multiple layers, but I haven't tried that yet, so I can't say for sure. However, I can definitely say that it gives a beautifully natural skin finish.)

So during winter, I mixed it with Missha's Cho Bo Yang BB cream. Cho Bo Yang has great adherence and is moisturizing, but it has a grayish tint. When mixed with the About Tone foundation, it solved both the color issue and the dryness problem. I loved this combination so much that I used it all winter long!

However, when used alone in winter, this About Tone foundation can be drying and emphasize pores as time goes on... Even with a thorough skincare routine, it still felt dry.

With the warmer weather lately, my skin's been producing more oil, so I tried using this foundation on its own and it worked great! No emphasized pores, and the longevity was even better when used alone!

I apply it solo using a spatula and sponge combo. It adheres thinly and smoothly like a liquid, but it sets quickly, which can make it a bit tricky to control.

When mixed with BB cream, it definitely applies more smoothly and has just the right amount of moisture. You can adjust the mix depending on the weather!

As for staying power, I wore it for 12 hours at a concert without any touch-ups, and there was no separation around the nose or caking. It wore beautifully with an elegant fade!

So far, I haven't found any disappointing aspects. However, it does set quite quickly on the skin, so when applying makeup, it's best to pat it in one area first, then move on to the next area.

This is my first foundation purchase, inspired by Leo J's recommendation video! As someone with oily skin and a summer cool tone, I was worried the color might look too white, but it didn't at all and the adherence was fantastic. With cushion foundations, I sometimes noticed dead skin cells appearing after a while, which bothered me, but this happened much less with this product. Although I haven't used it for long, I'm extremely satisfied with it.

There are honestly no downsides. I'm at a loss for words because there's nothing negative to say.

I bought this on a whim during an Olive Young sale after watching Leo J's YouTube video! I'm not usually one for foundation, always relying on cushions, so I was a bit apprehensive about trying a traditional foundation. But let me tell you, this is truly a five-star product! As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I've struggled with both dewy and matte foundations, but this one strikes the perfect balance between matte and hydrating. There's absolutely no pilling, and I don't even need to use powder - it doesn't turn my face into an oil slick at all. In fact, using powder might make it a tad dry. And the color! It matches my complexion perfectly with no darkening. Plus, as someone with super sensitive skin, I didn't experience any irritation or itching. It's simply the best. (If you do experience any blemishes, try cleaning your puff and foundation brush every other day - it works wonders!)

The shade feels a bit light to me, but other than that, it's great.

What I loved most was the adherence. It clings to the skin exceptionally well. I've tried expensive foundations and those touted as the best, but for this price and quality, I think I'll be sticking with About Tone foundation for a while. The staying power is also good, and even when it does wear off, it doesn't break down in an unsightly way. I'd also recommend it to those who've found other foundations heavy, as its lightweight feel is a standout feature. In winter, you can mix it with a base (like Yeon Jak or Etude Volumer) to use it without feeling dry.

If your complexion matches around shade 17, I'd recommend trying this color.

There's slight settling into fine lines. The shade 21 is surprisingly light - even brighter than shade 17 from other brands I've used.

The pink base creates a beautiful skin finish with excellent adherence. Coverage is medium - larger blemishes may need an extra layer.
