However, since the reformulation, I feel like the brightening effect isn't quite as impressive. Though it might just be my imagination.

This brightening classic is a staple on my vanity. I can feel my complexion darkening if I don't use it. It absorbs well, applies smoothly, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

If it were more affordable, I'd definitely use it consistently. But given its high price point, it's a bit burdensome to keep using long-term if you're expecting dramatic brightening results.

2. Scent
I thought it might have a grape-like scent, but there's actually a slight smell that reminds me of propolis - kind of like a subtle saliva scent.
(If propolis smells like saliva, this would be like a more pleasant, subtle version of that scent.)
Personally, I don't mind base scents or unscented products as long as they don't irritate my skin, but I think this fragrance might be off-putting for some people, so I'm listing it as a downside.

1. Absorbs well and applies smoothly
Unlike many brightening products that can feel greasy, this one has a lightweight texture that spreads easily and absorbs quickly without leaving any residue. There's no stickiness, oiliness, or heavy feeling, making the user experience top-notch!

2. No irritation, decent brightening effect
It's not irritating at all and can be used both morning and night.
It doesn't cause pilling when applied under makeup and doesn't trigger blemishes or cause any irritation.
However, while it's meant to be a brightening product, the effects are somewhat subtle. Initially, I noticed my complexion looked a bit clearer right after application, but as for significant whitening results... Well, after 4 months of use, I'm not really sure if I see much difference.

Towards the end, when I was almost finished with the bottle, the unpleasant(?) smell became more noticeable. It's still tolerable enough to use though.

I bought a bunch of Caudalie products during my European trip. It definitely seems to even out my complexion after application. I didn't get any blemishes at all.
