Pros

Ingredients: I always check the ingredients first, regardless of the brand. The Barrier Essence has great ingredients and no potential allergens, which I especially appreciate (I've been struggling with skin allergies like itching due to the changing seasons lately). Texture: It's not a watery toner, more of a runny consistency, but it's not sticky at all. It applies smoothly and absorbs quickly, yet it doesn't leave the skin feeling dry like some watery toners. It's the perfect texture for this time of year. Scent: I always go for fragrance-free products, and this Barrier Essence is practically unscented. Price: It's 32,000 won for 120ml at regular price, but with discounts and coupons, it's quite reasonable. Features: Despite the grand claims, whether because of them or not, it gives the skin a slight glow. It feels like it's moisturizing deep down while giving a subtle radiance on the surface. Even though I apply cream on top, my makeup doesn't dry out as much, which is great. With watery toners, no matter how much cream I apply, my skin often feels ruined the moment I put on cushion foundation. That's probably due to my extremely dry skin, but still... That's why the first product you apply is so important. This essence seems to do a great job of layering hydration, which is crucial for building up moisture.
