It applies as moisturizing as a hydrating cream, yet absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving a non-greasy finish. This makes it particularly suitable for those with dry skin or who struggle with foundation application. Moreover, its natural ingredient-based formula with minimal scent means it's relatively gentle on sensitive skin. The texture is light and smooth, giving the sensation of a thin moisture barrier coating the skin upon application. When used before makeup, it helps foundation adhere seamlessly and enhances its longevity. Even as makeup begins to fade, it tends to wear off naturally rather than drying out and cracking, making touch-ups easier.
ConsAs for drawbacks, it offers little in terms of coverage or brightening effects. It feels more like a skincare product than a makeup base, so don't expect significant tone-up or skin-perfecting benefits. Additionally, depending on your skin type, you might find it lacks sufficient oil content. Those with extremely dry skin may feel it doesn't provide enough moisturization.

With my large pores, a primer is essential. I was lucky enough to be chosen by The Hwahae Testers to try this base product, so here's my review after using it for a week. 1. Base with only primer 2. Base state after applying the product and mixing a small amount with primer for pore coverage I always need pore coverage in my base makeup and prefer a matte finish. Using primers year-round left my skin, except the T-zone, extremely dry in winter's cold air. The makeup around my nose would also separate, which was a concern. However, after using this Aqua Base for my makeup, I noticed significantly less tightness, and the makeup didn't separate around my nose. At first, I was worried about the tiny pearls in the formula making my skin too shiny or sparkly, but there's no need for concern! It creates a subtle Inner Glow effect. I was also concerned the slightly sticky texture might cause pilling, but it adheres perfectly to the skin. It's great for creating a base that's matte on the outside but moisturized underneath! I've been a fan of NATURE REPUBLIC's moisturizer, and this product certainly lives up to their reputation for hydration!
ConsWhile it's a bit disappointing that this hydrating base doesn't cover pores or even out the complexion, it still seems like a good winter base! So far, I haven't experienced any blemishes!
TipIf you have large pores like me, try applying the Aqua Base first, followed by your primer, before doing your base makeup. You'll experience an amazingly smooth skin texture. Applying the Aqua Base first, then a small amount of primer, creates a smoother skin appearance than mixing them together. This method also gives a subtle Inner Glow to areas other than where you have visible pores!

While it's not particularly drying, I noticed I didn't reach for it much, especially in winter, as my skin started getting drier. I struggled with dewy cushions or foundations as they tended to separate, but this product gives a subtle Inner Glow while still setting makeup well, which I love. ✔️Texture & Application It has a serum-like consistency that's not too runny. When applied, it feels incredibly lightweight with a burst of hydration, like a water gel. It spreads smoothly and feels moisturizing. ✔️Feel & Adherence Once absorbed, the smoothness fades, leaving the skin feeling firm and slightly tacky - perfect for makeup to adhere to. We know that slightly sticky skincare helps makeup stay put, right? When you apply foundation over it, it really sticks. It definitely improves makeup adherence. However, foundation might apply a bit less smoothly, feeling slightly drier than usual. ✔️Glow & Longevity I was surprised that the moisturizing, glowy film-like effect lasted long after applying just the base prep. Comparing sides with and without it, the side with the product definitely has a glow and looks more hydrated. It's a subtle Inner Glow, not an overwhelming shine, so it should be universally flattering when applied to the face. This product really shows its power as time passes after makeup application! Even after 7 hours, there's no greasy shine, no separation, no caking, and no buildup around the nose - it maintains the makeup perfectly. I'm truly amazed... Its staying power seems to be the best among all the primers I've used. I honestly didn't expect this level of performance, I'm impressed with its effectiveness.
Cons- The alcohol scent is a bit bothersome. I was worried it might dry out my skin, but it didn't. - It doesn't have the same pore-filling or texture-smoothing effects as silicone primers. However, the Inner Glow does make the skin appear more hydrated and smooth.
TipIf you've been disappointed with the staying power of glowy cushion foundations, try using this together! I'll update with more tips if I discover any.

I trusted S Nature's reputation and was thrilled to be selected! It was perfect timing as I'd been wanting to try a new primer. The Make Prep comes in a sleek container similar to other primers, reminiscent of Etude House's design. I appreciate its clean look and the hygienic cap that protects the nozzle. What really matters is the effect, and I was pleasantly surprised by its rich texture. It strikes a balance between lightweight primers and oily makeup bases, feeling more hydrating than greasy. It has a bouncy serum-like consistency that seems to wrap the skin in a hydro-lipid film, helping base makeup adhere well. The longevity is impressive too - I didn't even need to touch up in the afternoon! My main concern was excess oil as I have oily skin, but it doesn't seem to increase sebum production much. Though this could be due to the winter weather.
ConsIt's worth noting that this product doesn't offer any brightening or color-correcting effects like some makeup bases do. It functions purely as a primer, enhancing skin texture and makeup adhesion. The price point is also a consideration. While the retail price is unknown, based on the suggested price, I'm unsure about repurchasing. It's an improvement over my previous products, but I'm not convinced about its value for money.
