With my age, using just tinted sunscreen was challenging, and while I use brightening moisturizer, I felt I needed a cushion foundation too. So, I bought this! I used to have oily skin, but since my mid-30s, I've developed combination dehydrated skin with extremely dry areas around my mouth. Lip balm is a must now, and even my philtrum is flaky! This is my first Banila Co product. I was going to buy the white cushion, but considering the dry weather, I thought that would be better for summer. The pink one seemed more suitable for now. I got shade 23, which looks natural. After a quick morning cleanse and applying my usual moisturizer, I applied this without any other base or primer. It slightly reduces redness, evens out the skin tone a bit, and provides light coverage. You'd need concealer for perfect blemish coverage. Since I didn't use primer, there's some texture visible in certain lighting. It covers nose pores well, but cheek pores are still slightly visible, though better than bare skin. At my age, I probably should use a primer! But then again, what wouldn't look good on perfectly smooth skin? If you want a brighter look, you could go a shade lighter. For me, who rarely wears makeup, this is fine, though I notice a slight yellow tinge due to my naturally sallow skin. I'm thinking of trying the rosé shade next time. Choosing the right shade can be tricky. It's best to expect some trial and error or test in-store if possible.
ConsThere seems to be some eye irritation. I'll need to do a full face to be sure, but for now, I applied it near my eyes while writing this review. After a while, my eye on the side where I applied it started tearing up.
TipIt's fragrance-free, but you need to control the amount you use. The glow is subtle, and there is some transfer.
