I only reach for gel masks when I feel deep dryness or need a pick-me-up. That said, I highly recommend this product! My first impression was, "Wow, the packaging design is sleek and luxurious." When I put it on and glanced in the mirror before even checking the ingredients, I was struck by how well it suited my face with its subtle glow and bright appearance. This initial experience made the mask feel even more premium. Reading the instructions, I was intrigued to learn you could leave it on for 3 hours as a special care treatment. I tried it right away. After 30 minutes, I started to feel it slowly drying (as the serum was absorbing into my skin, not actually drying out). While this was a bit uncomfortable, the results were worth it. My face had a subtle glow and felt hydrated. I skipped the rest of my skincare routine, and even the next morning, my complexion still looked radiant without being greasy. I'm grateful to The Hwahae Testers for providing two boxes and for the generous expiration date (until 31.3.28).
ConsThe instructions say to remove the mask after 30 minutes when it becomes transparent, or after 3 hours for special care. I tried the 3-hour option, but it felt excessive. Even with my oily skin (especially in summer), I didn't feel dry, but after just over an hour, the mask started to feel tight and uncomfortable as it dried. Being a gel mask, it doesn't adhere as closely to the face as a sheet mask. My mom, who has a smaller face, noticed some gaps. This is typical for gel products, though, and it worked well for me. Currently, it's 10% off on Hwahae, priced at 17,900 won for 1 box (4 masks), which is just under 5,000 won per mask. Compared to sheet masks, it's on the pricier side, which can be a bit burdensome. While the higher price likely reflects better performance than sheet masks, I wish gel masks in general were a bit more affordable.
TipFor oily skin types, especially in this weather, this mask alone is sufficient. The next day, I found it best to reduce my usual skincare routine since my skin was already well-hydrated. Adding more products led to excess oiliness.
