I'm the type who needs moisturizer, body emulsion, and lip balm even in summer due to my naturally dry skin. I rarely get blemishes, but when skincare products don't agree with me, they can cause issues. Even products touted for their good ingredients can sometimes cause problems, so once I find something that works for my skin, I try not to change it. I was looking for a new winter ampoule when I won the chance to try this as part of The Hwahae Testers! I had high hopes due to its gentle ingredients. [Texture] It's much thicker than most ampoules on the market. It doesn't drip when applied to the back of your hand and tilted. The white color reminds me a bit of... well, you know! But that thickness means it doesn't evaporate quickly and seems to lock in moisture well. [Scent] Almost no smell! If you really sniff, there's a slightly sweet scent (maybe camellia?). [Effects] The hydrating power is definitely impressive! Usually, I apply toner and cream, but come winter, even with moisturizer, I'd wake up with parched skin. Adding this ampoule in between kept me moisturized until morning. I highly recommend this for those with deep dryness! If you have very dry skin, you'll relate - no matter how many layers of hydration you apply, that tight feeling returns from deep within after 1-2 hours. This ampoule really tackles that deep dryness. While I can't speak to its brightening or anti-aging effects yet, preventing dryness should help with wrinkles too.
ConsIt might irritate chapped skin from the cold. When I first got it, I applied it to the back of my hand and it turned red and stung. However, when I patch tested on the softer skin inside my arm later, there was no issue. The ingredients seemed fine, so after some deliberation, I tried it on my face and it was okay. I think my hands were just extremely dry, but if your face is chapped from the wind, you might experience some tingling.
TipI added it between my usual toner and cream steps.
