  Pros

  Skin type: Dry, Atopic, Sensitive Texture: It has a rich, dense consistency. Due to the cold weather, the product can be a bit stubborn to dispense, which can be slightly inconvenient. When mixed with water and massaged, it doesn't create an abundance of foam, requiring more rubbing than expected. Cleansing effectiveness: I tested it on waterproof eyeliner, mascara, and long-lasting tint applied to my arm. Even without double cleansing, it showed satisfactory cleansing power. Post-cleanse, my skin feels smooth without any deep dryness, and leaves a hydrated finish, which I'm very pleased with.

  Cons

  When lathering with hands, it doesn't foam up as much as expected, requiring more rubbing. It might be better to use a separate foaming container. While it's fragrance-free, which is reassuring ingredient-wise, it does have its own scent.

  Pros

  Unlike other charcoal cleansing products I've used before, this one has a really pleasant scent. Usually, products containing charcoal have a distinctive odor, but I was pleased that this one doesn't have that typical unpleasant smell at all! Typically, cleansing products with charcoal focus so much on deep pore cleansing that they tend to strip away too much oil. However, with this Hwahae product, I hardly felt that effect! My skin is thin and very dry, prone to redness around the mouth and nose, but I didn't experience any of that. I focused on cleansing my forehead, which is easily irritated, and after about a week of use, I noticed a significant improvement!

  Cons

  While I appreciate that the formula isn't too runny, it's simultaneously a bit too thick, making it slightly difficult to squeeze out of the tube. The lather wasn't as rich as I expected, producing more of a gentle foam instead.

  Tip

  For areas with severe blemishes or excess sebum, I recommend focusing on cleansing more thoroughly. Cleanse against the direction of hair growth for a more effective cleanse and (in my personal experience) better pore cleansing. It works wonders!

  Pros

  It's so hydrating! I thought it might leave my skin feeling squeaky clean, but that's not the case - it's more moisturizing than I expected. While most cleansers these days are mildly acidic, those with acne-prone or oily skin might actually benefit more from slightly alkaline products. I alternate between the two, and this one definitely feels like it has better cleansing effectiveness compared to low pH cleansing foams. Above all, I love that it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry.

  Cons

  Oh, the texture is a bit too thick, isn't it? It's a struggle to work up a lather because it's so dense. The foam does eventually form, but I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong... It's much better when used with a foam maker, but it doesn't have that rich, creamy lather with abundant bubbles. If it were just a little less thick and lathered more easily, I'd probably reach for it more often.

  Tip

  You really need to massage it thoroughly to work up a lather. It takes more effort than expected to create foam!
